Black Bear Energy Inc., a Legence company, is helping unlock the potential of underutilized commercial rooftops through community solar. Last week, New York Life Investment Management celebrated the completion of a 1.29 MW community solar installation at its Elizabeth, NJ facility. Developed by Dimension Energy and supported by the Black Bear Energy team through New Jersey's Community Solar Energy Program, the project is expected to generate approximately 1.6 million kWh of clean energy annually. Beyond advancing clean energy, the project will deliver meaningful savings to the local community, with more than half of subscribers coming from low- to moderate-income households. This milestone marks the second energized project between NYLIM and Black Bear Energy since 2018, demonstrating how strategic partnerships can turn unused space into long-term community value.
