When we first started Legacy EV there were only about 20,000 total EVs on the road that were out of warranty. In the next 18 months that number will hit over 1 Million. This equates to a huge opportunity for independent automotive service and repair shops! Used EVs are now among the hottest and best-value purchases in the market. As this trend continues, the need for trained technicians is going to sky-rocket. After 6 years of converting classic cars to electric – and training thousands along the way – we are kicking off our OEM Bootcamp to get these shops up to speed. Earlier this year we kicked off an EV training program with Core Civic at the Red Rock Correctional Facility in Eloy, AZ. Recently, the first cohort of individuals graduated from the program! This program allows for incarcerated individuals to get trained on next generation technologies that go way beyond just electric vehicles. Upon their exit and re-entry they will have a skill-set in a high-demand sector – setting them up for success in their next phase of life. Last week, our team had the privilege of spending several days in Guyana supporting the United Nations’ Just Energy Transition initiative. Guyana is taking meaningful steps today to prepare its people for the future of transportation, investing in skills, training, and long-term workforce development as part of its Low Carbon Development Strategy 2030. We were fortunate to work with a dedicated group of trainees who brought energy, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to learning. Their enthusiasm for building a cleaner, future-ready Guyana was inspiring to see up close. Our role was simple: share what we know, support the training, and contribute to a program that’s already laying the foundation for long-term, sustainable growth.
