Live in the Washington DC region? Like #democracy and #Christmas markets? Free this Saturday? Then RSVP now to take part in a DMV Democracy Dinner this Sat, June 27, 6-9pm in #washingtondc at which we'll be discussing developing democracy markets in the DC region, and how you can get involved. https://lnkd.in/gb3HvXau The DC area is home to a diversity of public-facing organizations — B2C (business-to-consumer) businesses, government agencies and nonprofits — that engage citizens in democracy in different ways. These include political history museums and tour guides, politics-centered bookstores, voter/election app developers, university public policy schools and political management programs, city and county government election and community engagement offices, etc. Like Christmas markets, democracy markets serve to connect these organizations with interested citizens and consumers in person in a festive space, and in so doing, strengthen democracy in the DC region by increasing awareness, revenue, volunteers, participants, and other desirable ends for the organizations involved. Democracy Dinner seating is limited to 40 people max. If you are free and would like to join us this Sat, June 27, 6-9pm in DC, RSVP now to reserve your seat. You are welcome to bring interested colleagues, friends or family members with you, space permitting. Staff of interested DMV businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies are particularly welcome. Launched in 2019, the DMV Democracy Dinners are held five times a year to help build a wider DMV Democracy Learning Community (DLC) to strengthen democracy at the grassroots in the DC region. Learn more about the DLC and how you can get involved. https://lnkd.in/eQyhMuzz
