Cryotherapy for prostate cancer now represents "a new chapter" in prostate cancer treatment. This relatively new and innovative treatment approach bridges the gap between passive active surveillance and radical prostatectomy (prostate removal) and helps patients retain their quality of life with reduced treatment side effects. In a recent article, Dr. Herbert Lepor, Chief of Urology at NYU Langone Health, highlights that the shift to cryotherapy and other "focal" methods started with the adoption of MRI technology. These imaging tests are used for pinpointing suspicious areas of the prostate prior to biopsy with systems such as the KOELIS Trinity® 3D MRI fusion platform. ⏩ Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eAvqZZrM

After several months of preparation and collaboration with our teams and partners, ProMap® Smart is now available. Integrated into the Koelis Trinity® platform, ProMap® Smart uses leverages artificial intelligence to perform prostate contouring in just a few seconds, helping to optimize the fusion workflow. Powered by a model trained on thousands of expert-annotated images, this new feature is designed to bring greater consistency and efficiency to procedure planning. Already available in more than 25 countries, including the United States, Japan, and several countries across Europe and Asia, ProMap® Smart will continue to roll out to additional regions in the coming weeks. Looking back at the Clinical Case Study Sessions in Prostate Focal Therapy hosted at Institut Jules Bordet in Brussels. Over the past weeks, physicians from several countries have joined Prof. alexandre peltier and his team for a series of expert-led clinical sessions focused on prostate focal therapy. These sessions provide a unique opportunity to observe real clinical practice, discuss patient cases, and exchange on every step of the patient pathway, from diagnosis and treatment planning to focal therapy procedures, including KOELIS TMA® targeted microwave ablation. Beyond the clinical experience, these workshops are also about sharing knowledge across borders and strengthening collaboration within the international urology community. A special thank you to all participating physicians, as well as to our distributor partners who support these educational initiatives and accompany clinicians throughout their learning journey. What makes a clinical study meaningful is also the people behind it. The VIOLETTE trial brought together expert centres across Europe to evaluate focal microwave ablation in localised prostate cancer through a prospective multicentre collaboration. A recent article published by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center highlights that for prostate cancer patients with intermediate-risk tumors, the medical landscape is rapidly shifting toward less-invasive treatment options such as high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), cryotherapy, and other focal therapy approaches.
