2026 - Restaurant & Bar Design Awards / Designing the Senses - Amphora (Melbourne, Australia)⁠ After London, Paris and Dubai, the fourth global edition of Designing the Senses touched down in Melbourne on Tuesday, 5th May at Amphora (Marvel Stadium), bringing together 16 leading architects and interior designers for an evening unlike any other. Hosted in partnership with Restaurant & Bar Design Awards, FPOV, KKDC, and Aglo Systems, guests moved through three distinct sensory scenes (Sea, City and Country) each paired with a course that spoke to Amphora's creativity and craft, all designed to provoke conversation around how design shapes the way we feel, connect, and engage with spaces. About the scenes: The evening opened with Sea, the sounds of Port Phillip Bay, cool ocean lighting, and a locally sourced seafood starter. Guests then moved to the bar for City, where Amphora's in-house lighting brought Melbourne's laneways to life, paired with a Wagyu main. The night closed with Country, warm evening tones, the sounds of Gippsland, and a relaxing dairy-based dessert to match.
