Celebrating our 2026 Kier Foundation Awards 🏆 What a year it’s been. At this year’s Kier Foundation Awards, we came together to recognise the colleagues, teams and supply chain partners who have gone above and beyond to support the Kier Foundation and our charity partner, Action for Children. Together, over the last 12 months, we've: ✅ Raised £209,239 for good causes ✅ Contributed 100 days of volunteering ✅ Supported children, young people and families across the UK through our partnership with Action for Children A huge part of this success came through Moving through May 2026, where 1,514 colleagues and supply chain partners covered an incredible 193,192 kilometres and raised more than £200,000 for the Kier Foundation and local charities. The awards weren't just about recognising achievements – they were about celebrating the stories behind them. From fundraising challenges and volunteering efforts to colleagues inspiring those around them, every contribution has helped make a difference in local communities across the UK. Congratulations to all of our winners and everyone who took part. You should be incredibly proud of what we've achieved together. Watch the highlights from this year's awards ceremony below. 👇

As a child, Alexis loved building LEGO towers and knocking them back down. That early curiosity sparked an interest in construction and led her to a Construction Management Apprenticeship. After gaining hands-on experience on site, Alexis discovered a passion for the wider impact of construction, supporting communities, creating opportunities and delivering social value. Now, as a corporate social responsibility apprentice , she's helping make a difference beyond the build while continuing to develop her career. "Your first path doesn't have to be your final one and changing direction isn't failing, it's growing." Engineering the future of defence Our team welcomed Luke Pollard MP, to the 10 Dock Redevelopment Project at Babcock International Group's (Babcock) Devonport site . This critical project is being supported by the KierBAM Joint Venture as part of Babcock’s integrated Major Nuclear Capital Programmes (MNCP) team. Once complete, it will provide a deep maintenance facility for Astute-class submarines, with the potential to support future classes. Hosted by leaders from Kier and Babcock, the visit highlighted the strategic importance of infrastructure redevelopment in Devonport to support the UK's submarine enterprise. Luke Pollard MP said: “This is a nationally important programme, central to maintaining and sustaining the UK’s submarine fleet both now and in the future. Projects like this are essential to strengthening our defence capability and ensuring the UK remains ready to respond to evolving global challenges.” Proud to play our part in keeping the UK safe. Last month we ran an AI Confidence Masterclass at Kier with Erik Schwartz (The AI Expert) - and it felt like a real step forward in building momentum behind our Naturally Digital strategy. We deliberately didn’t focus on tools. Instead, the session was about creating a shared understanding of AI - what it is, where it genuinely adds value, and how we use it safely and responsibly across the business. So what did we cover? We kept it simple, focusing on three areas: 🧠 How AI actually works (and why it behaves differently to traditional tools) 🔐 How we keep it grounded and governed at Kier, with the right safeguards in place 🚀 How it can support better, faster decisions in day-to-day work Because for us, AI isn’t a separate initiative. It’s part of a much bigger shift - becoming a more data-led, digitally enabled organisation, where people have the tools and confidence to improve outcomes for our projects and customers. What’s been great to see is the response from our people: 💬 A genuine interest in understanding AI, not just using it 💬 Growing confidence in how it supports their role 💬 Open and constructive challenge around risk, governance and impact And that’s exactly where we need to be. This isn’t about hype. It’s about building the capability, confidence and culture to make AI work in a meaningful way. At Kier, we’re focused on doing that properly - with the right guardrails in place, and a mindset of curiosity and continuous learning. This is just the start of our journey.
