This is KFC. Home of the real ones. People who are original. Individual. Fresh.

About us

This is KFC - home of the real ones. We come to work to be ourselves, and to make something of ourselves. We bring the graft and the laughs every day - building our own community, as we serve our original recipe chicken to the ones we’re in.   In our place, ambition grows. Careers build. Potential goes further. Our doors are open (all 1000+ of them), and they can take you anywhere, and give you the flexibility to balance work around your life - not the other way round.    We sell the world’s best chicken. Seriously. And we’ve done it since 1939, when the idea of crispy, original recipe chicken took Kentucky by storm. Now, we’re proud to serve 1000+ communities across the UK and Ireland, bringing the grit, pride and iconic reputation that we started with, all those years ago. Who are Yum! Brands? KFC is part of Yum! Brands - alongside Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and Habit Burger Grill - the world’s largest restaurant group. But size isn’t what makes us special. It’s our people. Across 1.5 million employees worldwide, we’ve built a culture full of energy, opportunity, and fun. A place where everyone can grow, be heard, and make a real impact. At Yum!, we believe in doing things the right way - trusting our people, encouraging ideas from everywhere, and celebrating the diversity that makes us stronger. Come as you are. Grow how you want. And make your mark with us.

Updates

  • Turns out 60 might be our lucky number... 🍗 Last year, we celebrated 60 years in the UK & Ireland. This month, we reached a new milestone by opening our 60th restaurant in Scotland, bringing KFC to Airdrie for the very first time. To mark the occasion, we were joined by Airdrie’s own Provost Kenneth Duffy to cut the ribbon and open the town’s new KFC, which has created 65 new jobs in the local community. And that’s not all. The first 100 people through the doors picked up exclusive merch and got to enjoy limited time offers including our Sticky BBQ Drip range. What’s not to love? First impressions count, so we thought we'd make this one a good one. Our new Airdrie restaurant is among the first in the UK to showcase our refreshed look and one of the first in Scotland to serve Kwench by KFC, our brand-new speciality drinks range, with a Kwench counter for guests to enjoy the refreshing line-up. Here's to becoming part of the Airdrie community, one bucket at a time. 👋

  • For Cerys Powell, KFC is different from anywhere else. After going to a competitor chicken shop for a little while, coming back to KFC felt like coming home again. Welcomed back with open arms, she jumped straight into a female leadership scheme with more confidence than ever before. We challenged some assumptions about development within the industry and heard how change can help shape your career. Our chicken might come in a box. But our careers don’t. • A summer job turned into a 16 year career. Ross Wyatt Assoc. CIPD joined KFC after deciding university wasn’t for him. And what a great decision. Team Member, Team Leader and beyond, one thing that has remained influential in his journey has been the people. Too many to count, and plenty to thank. Listen to how our people shape our business at every level. Quite literally. Our chicken might come in a box. But our careers don’t. • We're always looking for ways to make everyone feel more confident and capable in their day to day. That's why we're bringing our teams together for our first AI Acceleration Week. A week of practical sessions designed to help people get more from the tools already available to them. Across the week, our teams can choose the sessions that are most relevant to them. Whether that's learning how to make sense of data more quickly, building better presentations, creating their own AI assistants or hearing how colleagues are already using AI in their roles, it's all focused on real, everyday work. As we continue building a more modern business, we're making sure our teams have the skills and confidence to make the most of new technology. AI Acceleration Week is one way we're creating space to learn, experiment and share practical ideas that can make a difference day to day. Helping our teams spend less time on the routine, and more time doing what they do best. 🍗 #KFC #ForRealOnes

  • Carl Bibbey joined KFC looking for a job with flexibility and instantly saw opportunities. Real conversations, strategic thinking and ambitions to improve have shaped his apprenticeship into a meaningful career. The results show it: improved recognition, increased employee happiness scores and theory backed action. Our chicken might come in a box. But our careers don’t. 65% of our 33,500 workforce is under 25, which means we’re able to see first-hand the incredible talent and potential that young people have, but also the barriers many face when trying to take that all-important first step into work.     Which is why today, we were delighted to join the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Pat McFadden MP, Prime Minister Sir Kier Starmer, UKHospitality and fellow hospitality businesses at 10 Downing Street today to discuss how we can create more opportunities for young people to access meaningful, sustainable employment.    In partnership with the KFC Youth Foundation, we set up Hatch in 2022. Hatch offers NEET young people aged between 18-25 four weeks of paid employability training, wraparound support and a guaranteed job interview with one of our restaurants.    Last year we began a partnership with the DWP and KFC Youth Foundation to deliver Hatch in Essex, East London and Liverpool and Hatch has already helped more than 1,000 young people build confidence and take positive steps into employment.    A huge thank you to KFC Youth Foundation for leading this work, our franchisee partners, all of our fantastic RGMs who train and encourage our Hatch young people.     Hospitality is one of the best places for young people to start their careers. That's why we're calling for continued collaboration between government and employers, greater recognition of hospitality as a vital first-job sector, and support for proven employer-led programmes that help young people overcome barriers to work.    Together, we can create more opportunities for young people to fulfil their potential.
