Our SF community is heading to Treasure Island on Wednesday for an evening to kick off the summer - think tacos, bocce, cornhole with some great District members. We're opening up a few spots for founders and investors or friends of members to join us - apply here to get on the list: https://luma.com/uzqua3os Our member events are always hosted by a member or two, so Janet Gehrmann & Paul Jun will be there to welcome you!

We brought members together for an evening during #NYTechWeek - but we did it a little differently this year. 🗽 We kept it low-key. No big push, just personal invites for an intimate evening in NYC with our community and friends to kick off the summer months. Sometimes the best events aren't the biggest ones. There's something special about gathering founders and investors in a cool spot where real conversations happen naturally. Thanks to everyone who joined. We'll see you at the next one 👏

We love our interns! Thank you Emma Gruver for a great year of community building together.
I wanted to take a moment to highlight someone who made a real impact on our team, Emma Gruver 🌟 Emma recently wrapped up her internship with District and she was an absolute superstar on our community ops team. From day one, she brought positivity and a "say yes" attitude that kept everything running smoothly: organizing member data, drafting event communications, researching venues, and creating content in Canva. She was the behind-the-scenes engine that kept our community moving. What impressed me most was how quickly she could take ownership of a problem and work through it on her own. She didn't wait to be told what to do, she just figured it out. Emma is now stepping into a full-time marketing role, and I have no doubt she's going to crush it. If you're looking for someone who is a true problem solver, self-directed, and incredibly organized, she's your person. Emma, it was a joy having you on the team. District is better because of the work you put in. thank you 💙

If you’re looking to get out of downtown SF next week - or you’re based in the Peninsula - we’re bringing something special to San Mateo. 🎪 Check out Founder Festival🎪 On June 1st, grab your seat at the table and hear from a special guest and District member Swapnil S. (3x founder, 2x exits) sharing lessons on building and scaling AI-native products. On June 2, spend the day at this private lagoon retreat - part working session, part reset- with founders who are actively building and growing. We tried something new in NYC this month - trading our usual dinner for an immersive art experience. Last week, members and friends joined us for a private tour of Future Fair in Chelsea, spotlighting emerging artists. With expert guidance, we explored a range of styles and got a deeper look into the stories behind each piece. Thank you Rebeca Laliberte for helping us setup this unique experience and shout out to Margot Putnam Delaney for connecting us. #NYCEvents #Founders #NYTechWeek

Most founders think they have a strategy. But what many call strategy is often just a list of priorities, growth goals, or plans to move faster and that gap is where early-stage companies lose focus. Join us on May 13th for a 30-minute virtual lightning session, “Is That Actually a Strategy?” with Michael Hirsch. He will break down what real strategy looks like, why companies lose focus chasing too many opportunities, and how to build true differentiation ⚡Build with more focus.
