Documents required for ITR filing 2026: a checklist for freelancers, exporters & agencies If you're a freelancer, exporter, or agency owner filing your Income Tax Return this year, here's the complete list of documents you need before you start. 1. Foreign payment proof e-FIRA (Foreign Inward Remittance Advice), proof of inward foreign remittance Client invoices, raised to your foreign client 2. Income records Bank statements, from all accounts receiving payments AIS (Annual Information Statement) & Form 26AS, download from the income tax portal 3. Tax receipts TDS certificate (Form 16A), if your client deducted tax at source GST returns, required only if you're GST registered 4.
