For the 4th year in a row, Oradea authorities threaten to silence the LGBTQI community by blocking the Pride March scheduled for 25 July. ⚠️ If this happens, Oradea will become, after Budapest, the only city in the European Union where local authorities repeatedly prevent the LGBTQI community from exercising its right to peaceful assembly through a Pride march. This 2026, we stand firmly with our member Ark Oradea and demand that local institutions respect the Constitution and the fundamental right to peaceful assembly. We are calling on the Mayor, the municipal commission, and all civil society organisations to join the fight and ensure the Pride March takes place safely and freely. Sign their joint statement today: https://lnkd.in/e88YH2ic If you are a civil society organisation in Europe, you can reach out to them at pride@arkoradea.ro. #OradeaPride2026 #Solidarity #LGBTQIRights #HumanRights #Romania

On Tuesday, our Deputy Executive Director, Rú Ávila Rodríguez (they/them), and our Comms and Network Officer, Yleanna Robert, attended the final event of Queernet, a transnational project addressing housing insecurity and homelessness among LGBTQI people. 🏠 The event brought together partner organisations from Italy, Spain, Belgium, and Finland to reflect on Queernet's achievements and exchange ideas on how to continue advancing support for LGBTQI people experiencing housing insecurity. We are grateful to FEANTSA for inviting us to take part in this important conversation. 💜 Congratulations to everyone involved in this important project! Let's use these recommendations to strengthen support services and inform European and national policies on LGBTQI homelessness. 💫 #Advocacy #Homelessness #LGBTQI #Collaboration #Europe

And it’s a wrap for our 2026 Activist Academy! 🌈 Every year, it is a true pleasure to bring together LGBTQI young activists from across Europe to learn, reflect, and exchange on some of the most urgent topics affecting our communities today. A heartfelt thank you to all the participants for your energy, openness, and commitment throughout this week, to the experts, Milica Crkvenjakov and Ron Eis, who generously shared their knowledge and experience, and to our amazing local host and member, Budapest Pride! We hope everyone leaves this Activist Academy feeling more confident, connected, and equipped to continue their activism in times of backlash! 💜 #ActivistAcademy #LGBTQIYouth #YouthActivism #LGBTQIRights #Solidarity

Across Europe, LGBTQI young people face disproportionately high levels of hate speech and hate crime in multiple areas of life: at school, online, and sometimes within their own families. 🔎 Our new publication, “Policy Guidelines on Hate Speech and Hate Crime Against LGBTQI Young People”, looks at these realities and puts forward intersectional, community-based recommendations to shape policy, protect communities, and build safer spaces for LGBTQI youth. 💬 Comment “Safer places” and we’ll send you the research in your DMs. 🔗 Access the full guidelines: https://lnkd.in/e56arbmD #IGLYOPublication #CombatingHateCrime #LGBTQIYouth #PolicyGuidelines

[PART 2] Time to put theory into action! 🚀 Participants of our #IGLYOActivistAcademy applied the skills they developed throughout the week by tackling a real-life challenge. With this year’s theme of “LGBTQI activism in times of backlash,” the focus was on creating contingency plans tailored to specific scenarios. The level of creativity and concrete thinking was incredible! Every group presented a unique strategy to navigate potential risks, showing exactly how to stay safe and effective when things don’t go according to plan. Huge thanks to all participants for their energy and brilliant ideas, and to our two experts Milica Crkvenjakov and Ron Eis, for their insightful feedback! 💜 #ActivistAcademy #BudapestPride #LGBTQIYouth #QueerActivism #LGBTQIRights

This week, our team headed to Maastricht for a preparation trip ahead of our Annual Members’ Conference 2026! 🇳🇱 We had the chance to visit the venue, meet local activists and partners in person, taste some local dishes, of course, and get a feel for the city that will host us this November. It was a productive trip full of great conversations, lots of sunshine, and plenty of excitement for what’s to come! 🌟 A massive thank you to our Member and local host COC Limburg for being so welcoming! See you soon in the Netherlands 💜 👉 Don’t forget to register your delegate: https://lnkd.in/dkfwCGdm #IGLYOAMC #Maastricht #AnnualMembersConference #Network #QueerCommunity

Youth policy is being shaped now, and LGBTQI young people need to be part of it from the start! 🌟 Last week, youth stakeholders from across Europe met in Brussels for the EU Youth Stakeholders Group meeting. Over two days, the group exchanged with the European Commission on key files shaping the future of youth policy, including the post-2027 EU Youth Strategy, the Youth Check, the Quality Jobs Act, the Education Package, youth communication, and citizenship skills. IGLYO was represented by our Policy and Research Officer, Ahmed El-Salawy, who joined the discussions with youth organisations, civil society partners, and EU stakeholders. Our message is simple: LGBTQI youth must not be added later, softened in the language, or hidden under “all young people”. 💯 The next EU Youth Strategy must reflect the realities of LGBTQI young people in education, employment, mental health, civic space, safety, participation, and access to rights. 🗓 The public consultation on the post-2027 EU Youth Strategy is open until 16 July. 📣 Have your say and help make sure LGBTQI youth perspectives are part of Europe’s next youth policy framework: https://lnkd.in/dACGFCvE
