Role title - Database / Data Migration Specialist

The migration lifecycle will follow a structured pipeline:
Profile → Map → Load → Validate → Reconcile
Key Responsibilities
Lead spatial data conversion and migration activities across multiple agency data sources.
Perform source data inventory, profiling, and migration readiness assessment.
Prepare source-to-target mapping specifications for each agency.
Design and execute data transformation and loading processes.
Support three trial migration cycles, full rehearsal, final production migration, and post-migration validation.
Prepare trial migration reports, reconciliation reports, exception logs, and sign-off documentation.
Validate record counts, attribute fidelity, geometry integrity, topology quality, and exception levels.
Contribute to related workstreams such as Spatial ETL, Data Integration, Data Validation, Quality Control, and Versioned Multi-Agency Editing.
Work closely with GIS architects, application engineers, and platform teams during data verification and cutover activities.
Maintain documentation and version control for ETL packages, SQL scripts, mapping documents, and migration reports.

Required Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience in spatial data migration and conversion projects.
Experience with cadastral, land records, or large multi-agency GIS data integration projects.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, stored procedures, query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and bulk-load patterns.
Hands-on experience with ESRI Enterprise Geodatabase, including feature-class design, load utilities, versioning, topology, and domain configuration.
Experience with FME, ArcGIS Data Interoperability, or equivalent Spatial ETL tools at production scale.
Strong Python skills for data engineering using libraries such as pandas, geopandas, sqlalchemy, and arcpy.
Experience with coordinate systems, reprojection, geometry repair, and topology cleansing.
Required Domain Knowledge
Land Information Systems, cadastre, parcel records, and multi-agency reference data integration.
Practical understanding of LADM / ISO 19152 data structures and data model mapping.
Experience with spatial data formats such as Shapefile, File Geodatabase, GeoPackage, GML, GeoJSON, and ArcGIS Pro project formats.
Understanding of NSDI principles, ISO 19115 / ISO 19139 metadata, and OGC service publication.
