When it comes to workforce AI transformation, I keep seeing the same pattern across client work... A company deploys AI ⬇️ Adoption initially goes up ⬇️ Leadership declares progress (or victory!) ⬇️ A year later, progress has flattened because the AI is running on the same workflow it always was, just faster. In the end, the technology worked, but the legacy system(s) didn't change. That’s why I use a diagnostic lens to classify the type of AI work an organization is actually doing before deciding what comes next. It ultimately boils down to three options: > Paving cow path: Making the existing route faster, smoother. > Building a suspension bridge: Finding a shorter path, eliminate steps, rethink the sequence. > Building an aqueduct: Not just moving water more efficiently, but selling access (read: new revenue streams) to that water as well. (Spoiler: Most leaders are paving. A few are building bridges. Almost no one is asking the aqueduct question.) I partnered with Guild to explain what this framework means and how it puts a new lens on AI transformation.
