Battery storage has the potential to deliver significant benefits for Ireland's energy system, consumers and the transition to a cleaner electricity network. A new report from Energy Storage Ireland, prepared by AFRY, highlights how 2GW of long-duration battery storage could deliver more than €102 million in annual consumer savings, while reducing emissions and making better use of renewable energy. As Ireland continues to increase renewable generation, energy storage will play a vital role in improving grid flexibility, strengthening energy security and helping to lower electricity costs.
