Scope 3 data lives across thousands of suppliers, in dozens of formats, updated on no consistent schedule. Getting from raw spend data to a defensible number has historically meant months of manual work. The industry's answer has been more headcount. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲. At Green Project, AI isn't a feature we bolted on, but the engine behind the workflow. Here's what that looks like: 𝟭) Messy spend data gets normalized and matched by AI against our supplier database (no more manual cleanup) 𝟮) Suppliers get automatically sorted by emissions materiality, then screened against CDP, SBTi, and other public sources so buyers know where to focus first. 𝟯) When public data doesn't exist, suppliers get an AI-powered calculation engine to measure their footprint for the first time, and share it back. 𝟰) AI data quality checks catch inconsistencies before they ever reach a Scope 3 inventory, so the numbers hold up. 𝟱) And once you have a real number, our AI decarbonization agent (built with Giki) turns it into a tailored action plan, not a generic checklist. We use AI so you can spend less time producing inventories, and more time reducing emissions. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dBY_Mt-9

If you’ve spent time in Scope 3 accounting, then you know how the process usually goes: goods get measured with better precision over time, while services tend to slip through the cracks. Consulting hours, IT support, facilities management, outsourced operations, and more are everywhere in a company’s value chain, but they’re often accounted for with a single blunt instrument: how much money has changed hands. This approach is changing thanks to a metric called the Service Carbon Footprint, or SCF. SCFs are a measure of the emissions tied to delivering a specific service, calculated from how the work is actually done rather than what it costs. Read our beginner's guide: https://lnkd.in/eV5HMh8y

Big news: Green Project Technologies has acquired Optera. "For years, the sustainability industry has focused on measurement. Companies can calculate emissions, produce disclosures, and set targets, yet many still don't know how to close the gap." That's Sam Stark, Green Project CEO, on why this matters. Our industry has gotten good at measuring the problem, but far fewer companies have a real path from measurement to action, especially in Scope 3, where the disclosure burden, supplier risk, and procurement cost exposure are hardest to solve. Together we are building the leading AI climate management platform: Optera's enterprise carbon accounting trusted by Fortune 500 sustainability and procurement leaders, Green Project's supply chain engagement, and ACT Group's global renewable energy infrastructure, all in one place. A huge welcome to the Optera team joining us. Together we are a growing global team, united by the same mission: helping enterprises close the gap between measuring emissions and reducing them. Scope 3 has always been the hardest part of corporate carbon accounting. The data lives across thousands of suppliers, in dozens of formats, updated on no consistent schedule. Getting from raw spend data to a defensible emissions number, let alone a decarbonization plan, has historically taken teams of analysts months of manual work. The industry’s response has been more headcount and more labor for already over-burdened teams, but that approach doesn’t scale with the volume of supplier data that meaningful Scope 3 decarbonization requires. At Green Project, we've simplified Scope 3 decarbonization by building AI into the core of your workflows. Not as an add-on, but as the engine behind how our platform works. 🔦𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 | 𝐏𝐂𝐅 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 A product carbon footprint is usually a single number buried in a report. It tells you the total, but not where the emissions come from or what would actually move them. Our new PCF Insights panel changes that. It breaks a footprint down by lifecycle phase and category, with an interactive flow diagram that shows exactly where emissions originate. 🌟Our PCF Insights feature also puts your current footprint side by side with a 100% renewable energy scenario, so you can understand the impact and cost of switching before you commit to anything. That last view is the one that gets procurement teams to act. It allows business to drill down into the array of product they buy, and compare emissions hotspots between them. This is what a PCF should feel like: an analytics product you can explore, not a spreadsheet you file away. Measurement that points straight to the next data-driven move. Only 15% of the Global 2000 are on track for net zero once Scope 3 is included, and 70-90% of most companies' footprints sit in the supply chain. With CDP's 2026 reporting cycle opening the week of June 15, many companies are discovering the same uncomfortable truth: getting suppliers to respond to carbon footprint surveys is one challenge; getting them to respond with data that actually drives reductions is a much larger problem. On Wednesday, July 8th, Eduardo Gómez, Head of Product at Green Project Technologies, an ACT Group company, walks through the five most common reasons supplier programs stall, where your own program sits on a five-level maturity ladder, and the 90-day starting point that matches your level. This webinar is part of CDP's Bitesize Series, designed to help organizations navigate key sustainability and disclosure challenges ahead of the 2026 reporting cycle.
