  • Most charity digital estates weren't built. They accumulated. A CRM adopted five years ago. A donation platform added when the previous one couldn't keep up. A website rebuilt to reflect a new strategy. Each decision made for good reasons, each one adding a layer. The result is a set of platforms and systems that work - technically - but that's increasingly difficult to see clearly from the inside. And when the question becomes what to do next, that complexity makes it genuinely hard to answer. The CRM has served the organisation well. Is it still the right one? The website was rebuilt four years ago. Has the sector moved on enough to warrant revisiting it? Doing nothing carries a cost. So does investing in the wrong direction. Knowing which is which requires a clearer picture of what you're actually working with - and what's causing the results you're seeing. If this sounds familiar, Giant Direction was designed for exactly this moment. • GA4 gives you a lot of data. What it doesn't give you is an answer. Most charity teams spend more time trying to extract the right report than they do acting on what it tells them. And when they get there, they've still got a report that raises more questions than it answers. Giant Insights connects to your GA4 data and changes what that process looks like. Ask it a question in plain English - which campaigns performed best this quarter, where supporters are dropping off, what's driving traffic to your donation page - and it surfaces the answer in seconds. But it doesn't stop at the data. It tells you what it means, and what to do next. Less time in GA4. More time acting on what it's telling you. • When someone asks ChatGPT a question your charity should be able to answer, does your organisation come up? AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini don't automatically return a list of links. They synthesise an answer and cite the sources they trust. If your website isn't structured in a way they can read, understand and reference, you're invisible to a growing share of the people you're trying to reach. Most charities don't yet know where they stand on this. A GEO audit tells you - clearly and specifically. Where you're strong, where the gaps are, and what to prioritise first. The starting point is usually closer than you think. Strong SEO is the foundation for GEO, so the work you've already done on search visibility isn't wasted - it's what you build from. • The work your charity does needs a website people can trust. For charities whose mission is rooted in evidence and expertise, every part of the digital experience needs to reflect that - clear, confident, and designed to move people from awareness to action. We work with Breast Cancer UK, and together we delivered a fully rebuilt website that brings their prevention and campaigning work to life with the clarity and credibility it deserves - including a high-contrast accessibility option that widens their reach without touching their brand. When supporters trust what they see, they act. Across our charity partnerships, that translates into real outcomes, like: 1,104% increase in people connecting with a cause 122% increase in donations 60% more people reaching out for the support they needed. • A bold new website and donation infrastructure for Derby And Burton Hospitals Charity Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity raises funds to go beyond what the NHS can provide - supporting patients, families, and staff across two major hospital trusts. Their new website needed to do justice to that mission. DBHC serves a remarkably broad range of audiences - donors, patients, families, lottery supporters, and arts audiences among them. Building a site that works clearly and intuitively for all of them, without losing coherence, was the central challenge. We approached the build with each of those audiences front and centre - designing a structure that gives every visitor a clear, coherent path through the site, whatever their reason for being there. And a visual identity that feels unmistakably theirs. Sitting alongside the rebuilt site is Giant Giving, our own fundraising platform, deeply integrated into the donation journey. Supporters can give directly from relevant pages without ever being redirected elsewhere - keeping them in DBHC's world at the moment it matters most. Together, we built a digital foundation that supports DBHC's fundraising for the long term. • The UK public donated £14 billion to charity in 2025. The year before, it was £15.4 billion. There are six million fewer donors than a decade ago. The average monthly gift was down from £72 to £65 in a single year. And demand for services is continuing to rise. This isn't a temporary dip. The CAF UK Giving Report 2026 is consistent with a structural shift in the fundraising environment - one that has been building for years. For charities whose digital donor journey has friction in it - drop-off points nobody has diagnosed, journeys that haven't been optimised, data that can't support personalisation - that shift compounds. The donors you're losing to a difficult giving experience are harder to replace than they were three years ago. We've written about what this means for digital, and what the organisations navigating it well are doing differently. • A bold new brand and website for the extraordinary Naomi House & Jacksplace Naomi and Jack's provides specialist palliative care, respite, and support to more than 600 seriously ill children, young adults, and their families across central southern England - and their new website needed to reflect the weight and warmth of that work. This was a project with real complexity behind it. We were working in parallel with a branding agency on a completely fresh visual identity, which meant building a site around assets that were still being shaped. At the same time, we rebuilt the information architecture from scratch. Through discovery workshops with the Naomi and Jack's team, we designed a structure built around the people the charity actually serves - children, young adults, families, and supporters - rather than internal organisational logic. The new site also brings meaningful operational change: Beacon CRM integration means supporter data flows directly into the team's workflows, reducing manual admin. And the move to Django gives their team genuine editorial control - the ability to manage, update, and grow the site on their own terms. Together, we built something that honours the warmth and expertise of what Naomi and Jack's do every day. • Ranking on Google has never been harder. Algorithms are more demanding. Audiences are more discerning. The technical bar your website needs to clear just to be in contention has risen significantly - and it keeps rising. For charities working with limited resource, keeping pace with that isn't straightforward. Technical foundations need maintaining. Content needs to work harder. Your wider authority and reputation online needs building over time. That's the kind of work we do with charities - not a one-off fix, but an ongoing partnership that keeps your SEO performing as the landscape shifts around it. And getting your SEO right matters beyond Google. The same foundations that improve your search rankings are the ones that determine how visible you are to AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. GEO is already here - and strong SEO is where it starts. • The charities that will be pulling ahead in 2027 are making decisions right now. Not about which platform to move to, or which agency to appoint. About whether they actually understand what's holding their digital presence back before they spend anything. Many don't. Not because they lack ambition or budget, but because diagnosis gets skipped in favour of action. The project feels more productive than the question that should come before it. The question is simple: do you know what you're actually solving? If you're not sure, that's worth finding out. We've written about how. 👉 Link in the comments #CharityDigital #EthicalBusiness #DigitalPartnership

  • We build websites that match the scale of a charity's ambition. From rebrand launches to full digital transformations, we work alongside charities and ethical businesses to create platforms that are bold, accessible, and built to grow. Whizz Kidz is a great example - a brand new website designed with and for the young wheelchair users at the heart of their mission. That project has grown into an ongoing partnership, with new digital innovations continuing to move their mission forward. It's the kind of work we're proud to do - and outcomes across our charity partnerships reflect what becomes possible when digital is done well, like: 1,104% increase in people connecting with a cause 122% increase in donations 60% more people reaching out for the support they needed.
