We recently welcomed 55 customers from Frazer and MINSTER for an unforgettable Padel tournament. From the first serve to the final match, the atmosphere was fantastic. Guests enjoyed great food and refreshments throughout the day, before rounding things off in style with a BBQ, beers and watching the England game. We're delighted to hear the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with customers highlighting the excellent venue, quality merchandise and overall experience. Creating opportunities to connect with our customers outside of day-to-day business is incredibly important to us, and it's great to see these events being so well received. A huge thank you to our event sponsors, British Gypsum and Wavin, for helping make the day such a success. And, of course, thank you to everyone who joined us and brought such fantastic energy to the event. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

The construction industry is facing major challenges, from delivering the homes the UK needs to attracting more young people into skilled trades. As a partner to builders, groundworkers and civil engineering contractors across the country, we know how important it is to support the future of our industry. Hear STARK Building Materials UK CEO John Carter's views on the action needed to tackle these issues. 👇 📝 Please sign and share the Parliamentary Petition calling for a public debate in parliament, focused on the decisive action needed to secure the future of construction and the support our industry urgently needs: https://lnkd.in/ep5PPweF Let's Get Britain Building - NOW!
Speaking to Sky News earlier this week, John Carter, STARK UK CEO, highlighted the scale of the challenge facing the construction industry, with a housing shortfall of more than six million homes and a rapidly growing shortage of skilled tradespeople. While there has been progress in some areas of planning, many small and medium-sized housebuilders continue to face lengthy and costly application processes, with no guarantee of approval. Coupled with the rising cost to build, it is becoming ever harder to deliver the homes the UK needs. John also warned of a looming skills crisis: "25% of builders working today will leave the industry within the next five years, either through retirement or by choice. For me, that's a crisis." Watch John's full Sky News interview here: https://lnkd.in/epWAuSaT We need more young people entering construction, learning valuable trades and building rewarding careers that will help keep Britain building for generations to come. At STARK UK, we're committed to being part of the solution, and that's why we need your support. 📝 Please sign and share the Parliamentary Petition calling for a public debate in parliament, focused on the decisive action needed to secure the future of construction and the support our industry urgently needs: https://lnkd.in/ep5PPweF We need 100,000 signatures to make it happen and there are only a few months left to make this happen, before Parliament shuts down the petition. Share it with your colleagues, customers, suppliers, friends and family and get them to sign it. It literally takes a minute and is very easy to do. If you want to learn more about the issues causing the industry to be in crisis, the implications for all of us if something positive doesn't change soon, and what the government can do and right now, why not read the Let's Get Britain - NOW! State of the Nation Report: https://lnkd.in/exc9WKZz This isn't about STARK UK. It's about supporting the industry that builds our homes, communities and as the backbone of the UK's economy, delivering nearly £3 for every £1 invested in the sector. A huge congratulations to Derek Wood, who is marking an outstanding 50 years with Frazer! A truly remarkable achievement and a testament to his dedication, loyalty, and hard work over the decades. To celebrate the occasion, Derek was presented with a card and voucher, and the Frazer Leeds team enjoyed some fantastic cupcakes kindly made by Branch Director Rich Tinson’s daughter. Thank you, Derek, for everything you’ve contributed over the years. Here’s to an amazing legacy and a well-deserved celebration 👏
