Nottingham Trent University's official student radio station broadcasts 7 days a week from the heart of the City Campus- located in the students' union. Fly FM was originally formed in 1996 as Kick FM before a few years later changing to as we know it today. The station is one of the most successful in student radio with a track record in delivering Student Radio Awards and a long list of alumni going on to work for some of the biggest radio and media companies in the UK and beyond including BBC, Global Radio, and Wireless Group. In some of the most Student Radio Awards, Fly FM have walked home with numerous awards including Gold Best Outside Broadcast for our Notts Varsity 2016 coverage, Gold Best Female for Jen Thomas, Gold Best Male for Matt Lynch, Best Specialist Programming Jen Thomas and Gold for Best Station Branding. Fly FM has a slogan of providing 'New Music for NTU' and being 'Your Student Radio Station' on campus with various pieces of engagement happening throughout termtime including competitions and events. We strive to ensure everyone in the society gets the chance to fulfil their ideas and make something of them.
