🔐 VIETNAM FORMALIZES CRYPTO ASSET TAXATION - Key Obligations for Businesses & Investors Vietnam's Ministry of Finance has issued Circular 41/2026/TT-BTC, establishing detailed guidance on tax declaration, withholding, payment, and annual settlement for transactions conducted on Vietnam's pilot crypto asset market under Resolution 05/2025/NQ-CP. Here is what the new framework requires: ▪ VAT & Corporate Income Tax (CIT) Crypto asset service providers and Vietnamese-incorporated entities engaged in trading, transferring, or dealing in crypto assets must declare and pay VAT and CIT. Quarterly provisional CIT payments are mandatory and will be offset against the final annual tax liability. ▪ Withholding Tax at Source Service providers are legally responsible for withholding and remitting both Personal Income Tax (PIT) - for resident and non-resident individuals - and Corporate Income Tax on behalf of foreign-incorporated entities, on a per-transaction basis. ▪ Annual Tax Settlement All entities must complete and submit their annual tax finalization no later than the last day of the 3rd month following the end of the calendar or fiscal year.
