🚨 ATF hit reverse—and the eZ Check shortcut is officially off the table. ATF has withdrawn its direct final rule that would have allowed FFLs to rely on eZ Check instead of obtaining a certified copy of the receiving licensee’s FFL. Why? Because multiple commenters—including NSSF and Giffords—requested changes. That means ATF cannot simply tweak the rule and move on. Any revised version must come back as a full Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, complete with another public-comment period. ATF is also reviewing the comments it received. For FFLs, the practical answer is simple: Nothing changes. Keep obtaining certified FFL copies. Keep using eZ Check as a verification tool. Do not treat eZ Check as a substitute for the license copy. No certified copy? No shipment. #FFLGuard #FirearmsCompliance #ATF #FFL #FederalFirearmsLicense #eZCheck #FirearmsIndustry #RegulatoryUpdate #BreakingNews

🚨 July 1 is not just another date on the calendar for FFLs. Across the country, new firearm laws are taking effect that impact ammunition sales, dealer training, firearm storage, private transfers, assault-firearm restrictions, suppressors, shooting ranges, concealed-carry permits, and more. And because this is firearms law, the effective date is only part of the story. Several major Virginia provisions are already tied up in litigation, some restrictions have been delayed, and others require immediate changes to dealer procedures, employee training, inventory controls, customer notices, and transaction workflows. FFLGuard has broken down the most significant July 1, 2026 changes nationwide—along with what FFLs need to review now. ✅ California dealer training and pistol restrictions ✅ Colorado ammunition-sale and delivery requirements ✅ Rhode Island prohibited-firearm restrictions ✅ Virginia background checks, storage laws, and pending injunctions ✅ Vermont firearm-surrender procedures ✅ Kansas and South Dakota suppressor-law changes ✅ Additional updates from Florida, Indiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Utah, Wyoming, and more The bottom line: “Effective July 1” does not always mean “enforceable July 1”—and it definitely does not mean your existing procedures are still sufficient. Read the full FFLGuard nationwide summary and make sure your business is ready. #FFLGuard #FirearmsCompliance #FFL #GunLaws #FirearmsIndustry #ATFCompliance #RegulatoryCompliance #SecondAmendment #FederalFirearmsLicense

🚨 BREAKING: Virginia’s new “assault firearms” law just got stopped at the courthouse door. On June 25, a Lancaster County Circuit Court judge issued a preliminary injunction blocking enforcement of Senate Bill 749 before it was scheduled to take effect on July 1. The law would have restricted certain semiautomatic firearms, magazines holding more than 15 rounds, and specific public-carry activities. For Virginia FFLs, the immediate takeaway is simple: do not treat the blocked provisions as enforceable law right now. But nobody should start popping champagne. Virginia has already announced plans to seek an emergency stay and appeal, which means the rules could change faster than a New York traffic light during rush hour. FFLGuard is monitoring the case and will keep clients updated as the litigation develops. #FFLGuard #FirearmsIndustry #VirginiaFFLs #SecondAmendment #FirearmsCompliance #FFLCompliance #BreakingNews

The firearms industry does not need another trade show. It needs a room. A room where Federal Firearms Licensees can hear directly from the people shaping, interpreting, enforcing, and operationalizing the rules that govern their businesses. That is why FFLGuard is proud to sponsor The Briefing: FFL Compliance Summit, taking place September 23–25, 2026, at the W Hotel Dallas. This focused, in-person summit will bring FFLs face to face with ATF, FBI, industry leaders, compliance experts, technology providers, and attorneys for the conversations that matter most right now: Form 4473 changes. NFA and eForms updates. NICS workflow. Adverse action policy. Regulatory changes. Inspection expectations. What changed, who decided it, how it will be enforced, and why. This is not about collecting another badge. It is about being in the room before the rules hit your counter, your bound book, your inspection, or your license. FFLGuard is proud to support an event designed for serious FFL operators who want to move from rumor to direct information — and from reaction to preparation. Read more about why this event matters and why we hope to see you in Dallas! #FFLGuard #TheBriefing #FFLCompliance #FirearmsIndustry #FederalFirearmsLicense #ATF #FBI #NICS #NFA #Form4473 #ComplianceMatters

A great few days in Alabama with the Civilian Marksmanship Program! The FFLGuard team was proud to spend time on-site with CMP, digging into the compliance, operational, and firearms-industry issues that matter most to one of the most unique organizations in the country. When the mission is this important, “good enough” is never the goal.
