EU-made compostable wool thermal packaging for food, pet-food, and pharma deliveries – performance without plastic.
About us
Here at Fandaro we specialise in providing economical and eco-friendly alternatives to bubble wrap and polystyrene boxes. Our insulation lining is made of recycled textiles, available in custom cut unique size pieces and are widely used as insulation lining for frozen parcel delivery. With our insulation liners, you can send your frozen products to your clients with any courier service. The liners not only offer superior thermal insulation but it also offers physical impact protection to your product throughout the transit cycle. The insulation lining of our boxes are made by recycling clean, new textiles by mechanical force. The 1.5 decitex lightweight fibers form a thick batt with countless air pockets which insulate heat and sound. Our 1500 gsm multilayer insulation lining features a U=0,5 W/m2K heat loss value. With more than 13 years experience in textile recycling, we have built a solution to reduce landfill use and the eco-footprint of textiles. With our recycling method we add value and new life for the waste, widely used as nonwoven products in many industries. Our Fiberbox box insulation lining is an easy to use packaging system for time-temperature sensitive and temperature controlled products such as fresh and warm foodstuff, or cold and frozen food products, chilled pharmaceuticals or healthcare products, able to keep the package content frozen for more than 24 hours.

Is your packaging ready? For decades, EPS insulation and plastic bubble wrap were the cheapest way to protect temperature-sensitive shipments. But across Europe, that equation is starting to change. Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes are expanding, reporting requirements are increasing, and fees for difficult-to-recycle packaging materials are rising. Materials such as EPS insulation and plastic bubble wrap, which are rarely recycled in practice, are increasingly under scrutiny from regulators and waste systems. At Fandaro we have been preparing for this shift by developing insulation systems made from recycled natural fibres and developed a fully home compostable solution. The aim is simple: maintain reliable temperature performance while reducing dependence on hard-to-recycle plastic insulation. #EcoFriendly #ThermalPackaging #SustainableSolutions #Fandaro #sustainablepackaging #ecopackaging #plasticfree #zerowastepackaging #circularpackaging #epr #greenlogistics #compostable

EPS and bubblewrap dominate cold-chain logistics because they are cheap. But cheap does not always mean future-proof. This week, our sample and pilot shipments started across Europe to test a different approach: sustainable insulation designed for real-world frozen logistics Because in cold-chain, only one thing matters: performance under pressure. hashtag #coldchain hashtag #sustainablelogistics hashtag #fandaro hashtag #sustainablepackaging hashtag #frozenlogistics hashtag #petfood hashtag #fooddelivery hashtag #packaging hashtag #logistics

Shipping frozen goods shouldn’t cost the Earth (or take up all your warehouse space). 📉📦 If you run a food or pet food business, you know the struggle: Polystyrene boxes are cheap, but they are bulky, hated by customers, and take up huge amounts of space in your facility. But switching to "eco-friendly" usually means expensive prices and massive Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs). At Fandaro, we built our solution specifically for scaling businesses. Here is why SMBs are switching to our Wool Insulation Liners: Low MOQs: You don't need to order a truckload to get started. Save Space: Our liners arrive flat-packed. Store 4x more packaging in the same space compared to foam boxes. Performance: Keeps products frozen for 24-48 hours, allowing you to use standard couriers instead of expensive refrigerated transport. Customer Love: Give your customers a plastic-free unboxing experience they will actually brag about on social media. Scale your D2C deliveries economically and ecologically. At Fandaro, we’ve been exploring how to merge recycling with fully home-compostable natural materials — like pure wool. A few months ago, we began sourcing unwanted and unsellable wool stocks — fibers that couldn’t be used in apparel and would otherwise go to waste. 👉 Today, our first samples are rolling off the machines: Fire-resistant, undyed, washed wool insulation, made entirely from reclaimed fibers — no dyes, no additives, just nature doing its job. These fibers were saved from going to waste, and now they’re being transformed into sustainable thermal insulation, aligning with our vision of a circular, low-impact future. We’re excited to keep testing, refining, and improving in the coming days — stay tuned for more! #Fandaro #CircularDesign #SustainableInnovation #WoolInsulation #CompostablePackaging #RecycledWool #EcoMaterials #FireResistant #UndyedWool #TextileRecycling #ZeroWaste #CircularEconomy #GreenInnovation #NaturalInsulation #HomeCompostable

In a world striving for sustainability, Fandaro is turning one of the largest waste streams—textile offcuts—into a high-performance insulation solution. Recent laboratory research conducted at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics tested the thermal and acoustic performance of Fandaro’s recycled-textile insulation liners. The study confirmed that Fandaro’s insulation achieves thermal conductivity values as low as 0.036–0.04 W/m·K at an optimized density of 60 kg/m³. This places it on par with conventional materials like EPS and mineral wool—yet Fandaro’s solution is made almost entirely from post-industrial textile waste. The liners’ low conductivity ensures exceptional temperature retention, making them ideal for frozen and chilled food shipments as well as eco-conscious construction projects. Beyond thermal protection, the research highlighted remarkable sound absorption capabilities. Thanks to its loose fiber structure, the material effectively dampens reverberation, positioning Fandaro insulation as a dual-function material for both temperature control and noise reduction in commercial or residential spaces. Every ton of Fandaro insulation saves hundreds of kilograms of CO₂ emissions compared to virgin plastic-based foams. Manufacturing requires just 400 kWh per ton, using minimal chemicals—proving that high-performance insulation can be both eco-friendly and scalable. Fandaro’s system transforms clean textile scraps from garment factories into a premium insulation medium through a mechanical recycling process (tearing and carding). The result is a breathable, safe, and cost-effective product that diverts valuable fibers from landfills and incineration. While initially developed for cold-chain packaging, the study shows the material’s potential for green building insulation, acoustic panels, and vehicle soundproofing—helping industries lower their carbon footprint without compromising performance. 🔹 Thermal Conductivity: Achieved ~0.036–0.04 W/m·K at optimal density (comparable to EPS and mineral wool). 🔹 Noise Reduction: Strong sound absorption properties confirmed in acoustic testing. 🔹 Eco Impact: Fully recyclable textile input, low production energy (400 kWh/ton). 🔹 Versatility: Suitable for cold-chain logistics, green construction, and automotive insulation. Fandaro’s insulation demonstrates that circular economy solutions can outperform traditional materials—delivering value, performance, and sustainability in one innovative package.
