When one preschool community learned about families impacted by hurricanes, a beloved Stone Soup tradition became something even bigger. Together, children, families, and educators collected supplies, shared messages of hope, and showed just how powerful kindness and community can be. Read the new Exchange Community Voices article, "Soup and Storms: A Story of Caring, Collaboration and Community" by Cassie Worley, for a heartwarming reminder that when we nurture children's natural compassion, amazing things can happen. ❤️ Read the full article today: https://lnkd.in/g_En6mG8 #EarlyChildhoodEducation #Community #Kindness #Empathy #Preschool #ECE #SocialEmotionalLearning #ExchangeCommunityVoices #ExchangeCommunityECE

"This is easily one of the best books on education I have ever read." We couldn't say it better ourselves! From Teaching to Thinking invites educators to move beyond prescribed curriculum and reconnect with the joy, curiosity, and possibility at the heart of early care and education. Through stories, reflection, and thought-provoking questions, Ann Pelo and Margie Carter challenge us to reimagine what it means to teach, learn, and think alongside children. In this month's Dear Reader in Exchange Community Voices, Editor-in-Chief Nancy Rosenow reflects on the value of approaching new ideas with curiosity instead of judgment. In a field as diverse as early care and education, we don't all have to agree, but we do all benefit from listening, reflecting, and learning from one another. Start your month with a thoughtful reminder about open minds, compassionate leadership, and the conversations that move our field forward. 💛 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆'𝘀 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿: https://lnkd.in/gak6ReBH 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲? Exchange Press reposted this
I am very happy to share that my article, “Bringing the Three H’s into Daily Preschool Life Through Outdoor Opportunities,” has been published in Exchange Community Voices. Exchange Magazine is a highly respected publication in the field of early childhood education, and it means a great deal to me to contribute to this platform with my own voice and perspective. In this article, I explore happiness, health, and harmony not as abstract ideals or predefined outcomes, but as lived experiences that can emerge through everyday preschool life. I discuss outdoor opportunities through the interconnected dimensions of time, space, and movement, and consider how they can support children’s well-being, agency, care, and connection. For me, outdoor learning is not only about being active. It is also about pausing, observing, listening, wondering, taking care, and learning to move through the world with attention and sensitivity. I am grateful to Exchange Press and Nancy Rosenow for the opportunity to share this piece. In the new Exchange Community Voices article, “Technoference and Tantrums: What’s the Connection?” Leslie Blome explores how mobile device distractions can interrupt caregiver–child interactions that are essential for building emotional regulation in early childhood. Even small, repeated moments of disconnection may have meaningful developmental impacts. ✨ 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲: https://lnkd.in/g_np-eKy #ExchangeCommunityECE #ExchangeAuthor #ExchangeCommunityVoices #ECE
