EWB Sheffield is a student chapter of EWB UK. We are affiliated with the University of Sheffield Students' Union.

About us

As part of EWB-UK, we want to break down the barriers of poverty and help humankind achieve sustainability through the good practice of engineering. Within Sheffield and the University we run projects based on sustainability and humanitarian themes, and run regular educational outreach events in schools. At The University of Sheffield, we’ve been pushing socially and environmentally responsible engineering up the agenda for the best part of a decade. In that time, we built wind turbines, solar panels, countless pedal power constructions and generally had a great time putting our engineering skills to good use. If you’ve got an idea for an event or project that you would like us to run, don’t hesitate to send us a message

  • Hey everyone! It's that time - the Annual General Meeting is here again. Engineers Without Borders Sheffield Society is having its AGM on the 30th of April this Thursday, from 6 to 8pm, at the Diamond, Lecture Theatre 9! We invite any student at the University of Sheffield to apply - whether you're an engineer or not, member or not, undergraduate or not! 🌎💫 More about us 🌎💫 As part of EWB-UK, at EWB Sheffield we want to help humankind achieve sustainability through the good practice of engineering. At the University we run talks and discussions, design-and-build CCA projects, a designathon, green careers fair, regular educational outreach events in schools, and more - all based on sustainability and humanitarian themes. Being a part of a committee opens doors to so many great opportunities and experiences not all students get to do! If you're thinking about being part of one, don't hesitate, especially if you're considering EWB Sheffield! ⚡⚡⚡ From being part of the executive committee - the next president, vice president, secretary, or treasurer - to being one of our project leads, events and inclusions officers, engagement & publicity officer, outreach officer, or safety and trainings manager ('H&S officer' in the image) - there are so many great roles to choose from. There is a document linked in the form description to provide a little insight into what each role is about. On the day of the AGM, all you'll need to do is deliver a speech (max 5mins) on why you should be elected. At the end of the AGM, in-person voting will occur to reveal who will be part of the new committee. If you have any questions, please send us an email at ewb@sheffield.ac.uk! 💫 Link for the AGM: https://lnkd.in/eb_UrxAH. Kind regards, EWB Sheffield
