At the NDTV Fuel and Future Summit 2026, our Global Head of Customer Excellence, Ashish Tandon, brought a clear perspective to one of the industry's biggest questions: Can India electrify without straining its power and supply chains?   Joining Gaurie Dwivedi, Rathin Kukreja (EDF), and Ritika Jatin Ahuja (Big Boy Toyz), Ashish highlighted that India's EV ambitions need more than assembly-led localisation.   Our message was simple: true localisation begins with making the cell and processing critical minerals in India. Assembling imported cells into battery packs may reduce costs, but it doesn't reduce dependency. Building capability at the source is what strengthens India's EV ecosystem for the long term.   We also proposed an idea that deserves industry-wide attention: Certified Repurposing Centres that can give EV batteries a second life by supporting India's National Energy Storage Mission. Rather than creating new funding requirements, we suggest leveraging underutilised PLI capacity to accelerate this transition.   At Euler Motors, these conversations are closely aligned with how we think about the future: Building commercial EVs that deliver value for operators while steadily increasing the share of India-made technology and manufacturing in every vehicle.
