About us

We provide reliable energy for a world with growing demand. Our purpose is clear: Energy for people. Progress for society. Searching for better. Many people know Equinor plays a critical role in Europe’s energy supply. But did you know we’re also developing major energy projects around the world? Take our Raia project. Once operational, it’s expected to supply around 15% of Brazil’s gas demand. This is what providing reliable energy for a world in transition looks like. Find out more 👉https://lnkd.in/eUFG5czk

𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲𝘀. For Marte, it was important to get a job in the north — close to nature, family and operations. Today, she works as an operations and energy engineer at Norne, where she follows up production, energy use and day-to-day operations. Much of her work is about analysing data, identifying improvements and optimising the systems that keep production running. At the Harstad office, people from all over the world work together, bringing different perspectives, experiences and professional backgrounds. That is one of the things Marte values most. “I hope we find smarter ways of doing things, while maintaining the energy production we have today.” Through this year’s Arctic Race of Norway, we mark 50 years of activity in the north — and the people building it further. When the Strait of Hormuz closed, demand for LPG (gas used for food preparation, heating and industry) surged almost overnight. One example of this is India. Restaurants were forced to close, hotels shut down, and there was unrest in the streets. It was a powerful reminder of how critical our products are in many parts of the world. So how did we respond? By providing reliable energy for a world in transition. Find out more 👉https://lnkd.in/eUFG5czk

Vidar works as an exploration geologist for the Johan Castberg field in Harstad. His day-to-day work is about interpreting seismic data, analysing geology and searching for opportunities hidden beneath the seabed. What motivates him most is the combination of technology, collaboration and understanding something no one has fully seen before. Small details in the data can lead to major discoveries, and the work requires both curiosity and patience. For Vidar, life in the north is also about the balance outside work. Nature is close by, and the contrasts between working days and time off are an important reason why he wanted to stay in Northern Norway. “A lot of exciting things are happening in the north right now, and I hope the next 50 years bring even more activity, technology and development here.” Through this year's Arctic Race of Norway, we mark 50 years of activity in the north — and the people building it further. Right now, a large tunnel is being built between Meland and Hyggevatn in Hammerfest. It will be 3.2 kilometres long and has a cross section of almost 40 square metres. It’s not made for ordinary road traffic, but for power cables that will supply Hammerfest LNG with electricity. The Snøhvit Future project consists of compression that extends the life of the plant and electrification that cuts emissions. The project will enable us to preserve jobs, value creation and gas exports to Europe beyond 2050 – and to cut CO2 emissions by 850,000 tonnes annually – important contribution to meeting Norway’s commitments in the Paris agreement.  During the construction phase, the project employs close to 2000 man-years in the north, including at the construction contractor LNS AS from Andøya. They are responsible for building the tunnel and landfall. 👉 Find out more about the project at the link in the comments ⬇️

🚁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆 🤝 We’ve extended our agreement with CHC Helicopter Service for personnel transport and search and rescue (SAR) services in Central Norway through 2030. 🛟 Safe transportation of personnel is a prerequisite for safe operations. By exercising two contract options, we’re securing robust and predictable helicopter capacity and emergency preparedness for our offshore activities in the region. ✅ The NOK 1.7 billion agreement covers passenger transport and SAR services from Kristiansund, Brønnøysund and Heidrun, helping maintain the capacity needed to support our operations safely and efficiently. 👉 Find out more at the link in the comments ⬇️ (📷: CHC Helicopter)

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗖𝗦  🤝 We've entered into a letter of intent with Transocean for the use of three Cat D rigs on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS). ⚙️ The agreement helps secure rig capacity on competitive terms and supports our ambition to maintain high production towards 2035. 🎯 With these rigs, we can accelerate delivery of new wells, reduce costs and continue developing resources reliably, safely and efficiently. ⚡ Our ambition for the NCS is the production of 1.3 million barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2035. Around 70% of that production will come from new wells. 👉 Find out more at the link in the comments ⬇️

𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗖𝗦 📈 We’ve agreed to a strategic asset swap with Vår Energi that will help accelerate the development of the Peon gas discovery while strengthening our position in the Troll–Fram area. ⚡Peon is one of the largest undeveloped gas discoveries on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS). Together with our partners, we've agreed on a development concept that can contribute to extending the lifetime of the Gjøa hub and support long-term gas production from the area. 🎯The Vår Energi agreement is part of a series of recent transactions where we have optimised our NCS portfolio through active asset management and capital allocation – enabling faster resource development, increased use of existing infrastructure and stronger positions in our core areas. 👉Find out more at the link in the comments ⬇️

Throwback to last Tuesday, when my team and I had the privilege of presenting our strategy at our Capital Markets Day at the New York Stock Exchange!    After working on the strategy for weeks and months, it was great to finally share it with employees and investors. To deliver on our ambition of delivering reliable energy for a world in transition, we will develop the Norwegian Continental Shelf to maximise value, continue focused growth in international oil and gas and build an integrated power business. All of this is tied together by our trading activities, adding additional value uplift.  The setting could not have been more fitting: marking 25 years as a listed company, back at the place where that journey began. A memorable day at the NYSE — made even better by Norway opening the Football World Cup with a win.
