About us

Emergency Decon Solutions Ltd. is an Indigenous-owned company founded in 2020 by Anthony Punko. A local firefighter and Primary Care Paramedic with over 24 years of experience in the Emergency Services industry, Anthony volunteered as an Auxiliary RCMP member for over 5 years, as well as with various organizations such as Army Cadets, Minor Hockey, and the Winter and Summer Games while living in Fort McMurray. Anthony designed a custom-built Hazmat and Decontamination Response Unit for a local Oil and Gas Company, organised and developed a Disinfection Program to help prevent the spread of viruses for a local business, and provided training for both the special unit and the program. Seeing and experiencing the challenges that Emergency Services Departments in the region face in meeting NFPA, AHS, OH&S, and other standards or procedures designed to protect responders' health and safety, Emergency Decon Solutions Ltd. was established to address these issues. The company is committed to assisting Emergency Services departments in meeting current standards and reducing the risks to responders' health and safety from their duties and training. EDS Ltd. offers professional services to decontaminate, disinfect, deodorise, and clean gear, equipment, tools, and vehicles. We provide certified inspections and complete repairs for gear and equipment. Our products also help mitigate risks to responders, aiming to keep everyone healthy and safe. EDS Ltd. is a member of NAABA, NFPA, AIFEMA, and the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce.

What stands out to you in this comparison? This side-by-side comparison shows an indirect (transitional) attack using two different nozzle types. Both nozzles were utilized in a banking method off the back wall, allowing the water to cool the compartment without directly striking the seat of the fire. Notice the difference: - The fog nozzle takes nearly twice as long to achieve less extinguishment. - The HEN BLADE 175's larger droplet size and wider coverage provide faster cooling and more complete fire reset. - Greater droplet mass allows water to penetrate the thermal layer, control overhead gas fire, and create effective fallout throughout the compartment. A successful transitional attack isn't just about flowing water—it's about delivering the right stream to rapidly improve conditions for interior crews. #FirefighterTraining #TransitionalAttack #WaterApplication #EngineCompany #HENTechnologies #HENNozzles

We appreciate the trust Ontario Fire Department placed in HEN and their commitment to investing in firefighter safety and performance. The Ontario Fire Department evaluated nozzle performance using fire service research, flow testing, and real-world operational comparisons before choosing to transition to the HEN nozzle platform. Their conclusion was simple: provide firefighters with equipment that improves fireground performance, reduces nozzle reaction, and gives crews the versatility to adapt as conditions change. #FireService #FirefighterTraining #WaterApplication #HENTechnologies

  • Most firefighters know water puts out fires. Fewer understand why nozzle design has a direct impact on how effectively — and safely — that water performs. HEN Nozzles are engineered around the science of large water droplets. Here's why that matters operationally: Larger droplets carry greater thermal mass. That means more heat is absorbed per drop, leading to faster fire knockdown with less water expended. But the downstream benefits are equally significant for crews working the hose line: • Less nozzle reaction force — reducing physical strain on the operator • Less firefighter fatigue — particularly important on extended attacks • Less air entrainment — limiting the oxygen feed that accelerates fire spread or pushes heat and gases to the floor or other rooms • Wind-resistant water pattern — the stream performs consistently regardless of environmental conditions • Better cooling efficiency — more effective heat absorption at the fire interface These aren't incremental improvements. In high-stakes fireground conditions, they represent meaningful advantages in crew safety, suppression speed, and operational endurance. Emergency Decon Solutions Ltd. is a proud Canadian Distributor for HEN Nozzles, serving fire departments, industrial brigades, and emergency response organizations across Canada. Special pricing is available on select HEN Nozzles and HEN Titan Turret Monitors (Elite and Prime models) till the end of June 2026. Reach out before the end of the month to take advantage of current pricing. For years, K9 teams have focused on finding the threat. Now it's time to focus on what comes home after the threat is found. COMING SOON, The SoRite Company will be introducing the K9 SoRite DECON Protocol, a practical approach designed to help reduce contamination transfer from the field to patrol vehicles, stations, kennels, and homes. Every day, working dogs and handlers are exposed to environments that may contain fentanyl, xylazine, methamphetamine, cocaine, and other hazardous substances. While the mission may end, contamination can remain on paws, gear, vehicles, and equipment. The K9 SoRite DECON Protocol was developed to help agencies, handlers, and trainers address this growing challenge with a simple process: CLOAK IT. SOAK IT. BAG IT. This is more than a product. It's a commitment to protecting K9s, handlers, officers, first responders, and the families waiting for them at home. At The SoRite Company, our mission is simple: Save Lives. Because your shift ends. Exposure doesn't. #K9 #LawEnforcement #WorkingDogs #PoliceK9 #FentanylAwareness #OfficerSafety #K9Safety #FirstResponders #Corrections #SoRite #SaveLives

  • We’re in Fort McMurray this week for the APFFPA Conference. Events like this matter because they bring the people doing the work together, and they keep the focus where it belongs: protecting firefighter and paramedic health and safety on the job. If you’re here, come say hello. If you want to talk SCBA/RPE decontamination, bunker gear care, or practical ways to reduce exposure risk, we’re always happy to share what we’ve learned from the field. • As a Canadian Distributor for HEN Nozzles, we can place your order or provide you with some information on the HEN TITAN Elite and TITAN Prime monitors.

🚀 Doing what I love - building products alongside a phenomenal team. Adding another incredible smart hardware product to the world to save the world in fighting fire. This week we launched our Titan - Elite. A 350 GPM, 200PSI adjustable gallonage Turret with integrated real-time flow data to help firefighters make informed decisions. Building something truly innovative is never a straight line. We hit unexpected roadblocks. But every single time we hit a wall, the team didn't just pivot—they built a robust solution that’s future proofed. To the Firefighters, leadership, engineering, operations, sales+marketing, and support teams, thank you! Your support, grit and sheer determination are the reasons for success. This launch belongs to you. 👉 Check it out here https://lnkd.in/gkgnsA9u #hentechnologies, #hen, #firefighters, #firesuppression

HEN in action during firefighter recruit training. We used the solid Blade stream on advancement and extinguishment of car fires. Here we see a single firefighter able to advance while flowing 175GPM on a 200' - 1-3/4 line at 45psi at the nozzle. The only downside is the fire went out too quickly, and the amount of water flowing kept knocking out the gas fueled burners. I have spent 16 years of training and teaching on this specific prop and have never experienced these fires going out so efficiently with minimal hose movement and nozzle placement. We were able to use the straight solid stream to cool from a distance and the solid Blade stream on advancement to "protect" or "shield" the firefighter, while covering the fuel with a consistent sheet of water, fully saturating the prop and cooling the area. We also deployed this nozzle on a 150'- 1-3/4 bumper line, using the blade stream to mimick exposure protection normally done with a fog pattern. One of the biggest differences seen on his windy day, the solid Blade stream stayed where we directed it, where our fog pattern and its small, air entrained droplets would be blown off path. #HEN #HENTechnologies #Firefighting #FireSuppression #BritishColumbia #BCFire #Fire #FireSafety #searchandrescue #Firefighter #Firebehaviour #FireDepartment #watersupply #carfire #dumpsterfire #containerfire #hazmat #vehiclefire #smoothbore #DEMN #emergencymanagement
