DRDP (2025) begins in July 2026 and for many early learning programs, June is the final preparation window. The big question is not only what changed in the new DRDP framework. It is how programs can implement DRDP (2025) without adding more documentation workload for educators. That is especially important for preschool programs, Head Start organizations, districts, agencies, and multi-site providers reviewing their DRDP assessment workflows. At its best, DRDP should grow from authentic classroom moments: - observations captured naturally during the day - photos, videos, notes, and learning stories used as meaningful evidence - documentation connected to assessment without duplicate entry - families kept connected to children’s learning - leaders given clearer visibility across classrooms and programs We’ve published a practical DRDP (2025) readiness guide for early learning programs preparing for the July 2026 transition. It covers what is changing, who should prepare, what programs should review now, and how documentation systems can support a smoother DRDP workflow. This piece from The Sector - Early Education News on AI in early learning is making an important point. If AI is becoming part of the conversation in ECE, then the human side of the work matters even more, not less. AI may help with workflow, communication, and writing support. But it can’t replace play, relationships, professional judgment, or an educator’s ability to notice what matters in a child’s learning. That feels like the line to hold. As more ECE teams begin to think about where AI fits, we believe the conversation should start here: what should technology support and what must remain unmistakably human? The best documentation does more than satisfy a framework. It helps teachers reflect. It helps families understand their child. And it captures learning in a way that actually feels meaningful. The good news: you don't have to choose. Learning Stories satisfy your framework requirements without losing the child in the process. The question isn’t whether Learning Stories satisfy your framework. It’s how naturally they already do. In our latest article, we explore how one meaningful observation can become rich evidence of learning — without pulling teachers into a separate compliance workflow. What if assessment could energize teachers instead of exhaust them? For decades, Learning Stories have helped educators document children’s strengths, engage families, and make assessment feel more meaningful. Now, more educators across North America are paying attention. In our latest article, we break down what Learning Stories are, why they work, and how they can support better documentation without turning teaching into busy work. Read here: https://lnkd.in/eNVPYzie Are Learning Stories already part of your practice, or are checklists still doing most of the work? 👇 #LearningStories #EarlyChildhoodEducation #AuthenticAssessment #FamilyEngagement

A question for early childhood educators: How many hours do you spend each week on assessment documentation? Not teaching. Not planning. Not connecting with children. Just entering data. According to National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)'s 2026 survey, nearly half of early childhood educators reported increased burnout, and 22% said they were considering leaving the field in the next year. More than half of those considering leaving said they would be very or extremely likely to stay with better support, including adequate support from colleagues and administrators. Our latest article explores why checklist-driven assessment is exhausting good teachers, and what a better alternative can look like. It’s 8:30 PM. The children are gone. But the teacher isn’t resting. She’s clicking through assessment screens, entering data into assessment systems. Nearly half of early childhood educators reported increased burnout. 22% reported they were considering leaving the field in the next year. If documentation is burning out good teachers, why do we keep doing it this way? Read the full article below. ⬇️ #EarlyChildhoodEducation #ECE #TeacherBurnout #LearningStories #Assessment
