State-aligned assessments and actionable data for schools and districts

About us

Edcite is an assessment and analytics platform that helps educators deliver meaningful, state-aligned assessments and turn student data into actionable insights. Teachers can create their own assessments using 60+ technology-enhanced item types or choose from a library of 350,000+ questions aligned to state standards. Edcite makes it easy to provide students with digital practice that reflects the look and feel of state tests. Most items are auto-graded, giving students immediate feedback while providing teachers with real-time visibility into student understanding. For schools and districts, Edcite supports common assessment practices through Edcite Schools, enabling teams to design, deliver, and analyze assessments with consistent, standards-aligned experiences. Role-based reports at the student, class, school, and district level help educators monitor progress and make informed instructional decisions. Edcite integrates with platforms like Google Classroom, Clever, and ClassLink, supports accessibility and accommodations, and offers secure testing through a lockdown browser. Empowering Teachers. Engaging Students.

  • When districts use separate tools for classroom assessment, intervention, benchmark testing , and test prep, assessment systems can become fragmented fast. IDEA Public Schools took a different approach. Instead of building disconnected workflows, IDEA built a more connected assessment system across campuses using a single platform for: ➡️ Classroom formative assessment ➡️ Intervention and reteach ➡️ Benchmark testing ➡️ Network-wide assessments ➡️ State test preparation The result is a more consistent student experience, simpler workflows for educators, and faster access to student data. We recently spoke with Samantha Murillo, Assessment Administrator at IDEA Public Schools, about how the network approaches assessment design, instructional decision-making, and preparation for Texas’s transition to SST. • Most districts use common assessments. Far fewer use them to actually improve instruction. At Princeton City Schools, Teacher-Based Teams are doing exactly that: ✔️ Build shared assessments ✔️ Review results together ✔️ Adjust instruction based on what students need next The result: assessments become part of the instructional process, not just a checkpoint. We broke down how they’re doing it here: https://lnkd.in/gagqTyDa #K12Education #Assessment #EdTech #CommonAssessments #DataDrivenInstruction

  • Washington, D.C. is changing its state assessment system. Starting in 2026-2027, DC CAPE 2.0 introduces computer-adaptive testing through Smarter Balanced. The assessment becomes responsive to each student in real time. Instead of a fixed test, the assessment adjusts as students work: • Strong responses ➡️ more challenging questions • Missteps ➡️ questions that pinpoint understanding The result is more precise insight, fewer questions, and less testing time. DC CAPE 2.0 connects summative and interim assessments with instructional resources. This helps educators monitor progress throughout the year, not just at the end. It raises an important consideration for schools: 👉 Are students regularly experiencing digital testing environments like the one they’ll see on test day? In this post, we look at: • how computer-adaptive testing works • what’s changing from current DC CAPE to DC CAPE 2.0 • what’s changing for instruction and assessment 🔗 Read the full breakdown: https://lnkd.in/g5fZsd4A #K12Education #EdTech #Assessment #DCCAPE #SmarterBalanced #EducationLeadership

  • Texas is replacing STAAR. Beginning in 2027-2028, the new Student Success Tool (SST) will shift Texas toward a BOY-MOY-EOY assessment model focused on student growth, not just a single high-stakes test. What’s changing: • Adaptive BOY + MOY assessments • Shorter, more precise exams • Continuous progress monitoring • EOY still tied to accountability This is a major shift for districts: from one moment in time to year-round visibility into TEKS mastery. The key question: 👉 How will your assessment system support this shift? In this post, we break down: • What SST is • What’s changing from STAAR • What districts should do now • How to prepare before 2027 🔗 Read the full breakdown: https://lnkd.in/gu5tRkCw #K12Education #EdTech #Assessment #TexasEducation #STAAR #SST #TEKS

  • When teachers first start using Edcite, one of the most common questions is: “What should I assign first?” A simple approach that works: 1️⃣ Assign a ready-to-use assignment 2️⃣ Try tweaking an existing assignment to make it your own 3️⃣ Create your own when you’re ready This progression keeps the lift low while giving immediate insight into student understanding. We put together a short guide that walks through this step-by-step: https://lnkd.in/grMNXUuQ #EdTech #K12Education #FormativeAssessment #TeachingStrategies
