Many institutions have embraced Open Educational Resources (OER), but simply making resources available isn't enough. Without the right strategy, valuable content can become difficult to discover, challenging to maintain, and underutilised by educators and learners alike. A successful OER strategy should focus on: 📚 Making resources easy to discover through rich metadata and interoperability. ♿ Ensuring content is accessible and reduces financial barriers for learners. 🔄 Establishing governance that keeps resources accurate, current, and reusable over time. This is where openEQUELLA makes the difference. As a purpose-built digital repository, openEQUELLA helps institutions organise, manage, discover, and share educational resources at scale -supporting sustainable OER initiatives that integrate seamlessly into teaching and learning workflows. 👉 Read the full blog to learn how your institution can build an OER strategy that delivers lasting value: https://lnkd.in/gT4yvAHs #OER #OpenEducation #HigherEducation #EdTech #DigitalLearning #openEQUELLA #EducationalResources #Accessibility #LearningDesign

🔎 Creating Open Educational Resources (OER) is only the beginning. The real challenge for institutions is ensuring those resources remain discoverable, reusable, and sustainable over time. Without a clear strategy -and the infrastructure to support it - even valuable content can become difficult to find, manage, or scale. 💡 That's why OER strategy and repository strategy should go hand in hand. #OpenEQUELLA provides institutions with a flexible, open-source platform to manage and share educational resources, helping transform OER collections into lasting institutional assets. Our latest blog explores the building blocks of an effective OER strategy and how institutions can set themselves up for long-term success. Skills are often invisible - and that’s a global problem. Traditional resumes typically capture only 20% of a person’s talent, leaving hard-won, life-wide skills unrecognised by employers. In our latest webinar: "The Learner Voice: Skills Visibility Matters", we move beyond the technical acronyms to hear the most important perspective in the skills ecosystem: The Learner and hear from them sharing about the profound "Aha!" moment of seeing their unseen skills finally verified and portable. In this session, we explored: ✅ How the XCredit ecosystem (funded by Walmart) and SkillsAware translate lived experience into verified data. ✅Why durable skills, like leadership and adaptability, are the most critical yet least evidenced capabilities in the modern market. ✅ The human element: ensuring technology accelerates recognition without sacrificing the learner experience. 👉 Watch the full webinar here: https://lnkd.in/gx2QdqW7 A special thank you to our incredible speakers and partners: Facilitators: Dr. Tara Laughlin, Nishita Chheda from Education Design Lab and Margo Griffith, from Edalex Learners: Monique E. and Tamara S. #GenAI makes it easy for academics to create content. Many institutions are embracing GenAI - but as adoption grows, so does the challenge of maintaining quality, consistency, and compliance. A US-based university tackled this head-on. By using #openEQUELLA as a secure AI publishing infrastructure, they’ve: ✔️ Centralised AI generated materials - from videos to interactive apps - in one governed repository ✔️ Enabled non-technical staff to publish in minutes (no IT bottlenecks) ✔️ Prevented content sprawl across uncontrolled platforms ✔️ Maintained control over access, security, and visibility ✔️ Reduced publishing risk with a safe layer between creation and the web 👉 Read the full use case: https://lnkd.in/gt2gDq74 #HigherEducation #EdTech #GenAI #AIinEducation #DigitalLearning #LearningDesign #ContentManagement #AcademicInnovation #InstructionalDesign #EOR

CredX 2026 in Vancouver, hosted by Vancouver Community College (VCC) with BCcampus, once again brought together an energising mix of post-secondary, government, and industry leaders focused on the future of micro-credentials, digital badging, and skills recognition. We were especially excited to see Edalex Principal Skill Consultant Margo Griffith on stage alongside fellow panelists Nan Travers & Susan Forseille contributing to these important cross-sector conversations. As Margo reflected: “CredX help catalyse the shift we need in our talent ecosystem and not just in Canada. These tough challenges are ubiquitous - the necessity of building robust, interoperable data systems (our "digital plumbing"), the power of using "neutral conveners" to build essential relational infrastructure between higher education and employers, and the absolute need for human-centered recognition systems that value lived experience and community-led upskilling. I am grateful to Tannis Morgan and Adrian Lipsett for allowing me the opportunity to participate” It’s clear that events like CredX continue to play a vital role in bringing together diverse perspectives and turning complex challenges into practical momentum for change. #CredX2026 #DigitalCredentials #SkillsRecognition #Microcredentials #EdTech #FutureOfWork #SkillsFirst #SkillsVisibility #PLA #PLAR
