🇪🇹 A quick update on yesterday’s Claude rollout. After our post yesterday, several of you sent DMs and screenshots showing that Claude.ai was still returning a "not available in your country" error. We experienced the exact same thing on our end. While we were successfully building through the Anthropic API all day, the web interface was definitely lagging behind. It looks like this was just a standard staggered regional rollout. As of this morning, we have tested it across our team and the Claude web UI is officially live 🎉 and propagating fully here in Addis. You can now try Claude.ai completely for free—no VPNs, no foreign phone numbers for SMS verification, and no credit cards required to get started. It was great seeing how fast the local dev community jumped on testing this. We are currently integrating these models into our own production apps, and having direct, low-latency access is a massive win for the whole ecosystem. Let's get back to shipping!

🇪🇹 Big news for devs in Ethiopia Claude is officially available in Ethiopia. Anthropic now lists Ethiopia among its supported countries for both Claude.ai and the Anthropic API — which means we can finally build with Claude legitimately, without VPNs or workarounds.
