We have exciting news to share with our community. 🌟 We are thrilled to welcome Angie Brasington as dZi Foundation's new Executive Director! Angie's roots in Nepal run deep — she began her career there as a Peace Corps Volunteer, working alongside women's groups and water and sanitation workers. She went on to design and manage large-scale community development programs with Save the Children across multiple countries, and most recently led USAID's social and behavior change team within the Bureau for Global Health, shaping programming that centered communities and improved public health outcomes in over 40 countries. With 25+ years in global development and a philosophy perfectly aligned with dZi's, we are thrilled to have Angie join the team as we work to achieve shared prosperity in Nepal. We also want to offer our heartfelt gratitude to our outgoing Executive Director, Wende Valentine. Over 5.5 years, Wende has led with integrity and empathy as she has strengthened our strategic vision, Board of Directors, partnerships, and staff capacity. We are so grateful for everything she has given to dZi and to the communities we partner with in Nepal! We are honored to join a network of impactful organizations as a Benesys charity partner! You might not know that dZi is also registered as a nonprofit in the UK, and Benesys is helping us strengthen partnerships with new and existing UK donors. Strengthening Local Governance through Collaboration We are delighted to share the successful completion of the ISPKN Project Kick-off Meetings across our six partner municipalities in the Koshi River Basin: 📍 Belaka Municipality 📍 Gadhi Rural Municipality 📍 Hanumannagar Municipality 📍 Halesi Tuwachung Municipality 📍 Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality 📍 Sunkoshi Rural Municipality These kick-off meetings provided a strong platform for coordination and collaboration, bringing together Mayors/Chairs, Chief Administrative Officers, municipal officials, and our local implementing partners. The discussions focused on aligning project goals with local needs and the Local Governance Performance Assessment System (LGPAS), ensuring that dZi’s interventions remain integrated, sustainable, and impact-driven. We deeply appreciate the commitment and leadership shown by our local government partners. Together, we look forward to building inclusive, thriving, and resilient communities and driving meaningful change. Here’s to a future of shared prosperity! 🤝✨

dZi Foundation is honored to support the Social Welfare Council (SWC) in Nepal in launching its new digital service platform, iPACT (Integrated Platform for Aid, Compliance and Transparency). The system was inaugurated by Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Sushila Karki, who highlighted its potential to enhance the Council’s efficiency, transparency, and predictability. She also underscored the importance of effectively implementing the one-door system to facilitate and streamline services for non-governmental organizations. Representatives from the Association of INGOs in Nepal (AIN), NGO Federation Nepal (NFN), and Federation of Democratic NGOs Nepal (FEDEN) expressed appreciation to the Government of Nepal for introducing this digital initiative. They shared optimism that the platform will strengthen service delivery- particularly in project affiliation, approval, and review processes- ensuring greater policy alignment, regulatory compliance, and more effective utilization of foreign grants for national and community priorities. During the ceremony, Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Sushila Karki recognized and felicitated Rakesh Karna, Country Director of dZi Foundation Nepal, for the Foundation’s valuable technical and strategic support in realizing this important milestone for the Council’s digital transformation.
