November is known as a time to practice gratitude and one thing we’re grateful for is the people we work with every day who help contribute to the circular economy and divert as much waste from the landfill as possible. To our customers, our vendors, and our partners: thank you! We are continuing to innovate and improve how recycling is done for a better community and a better planet and we couldn’t do it without every single one of you.

As we close out the week, I’m honestly filled with optimism for our industry. The numbers coming out in the last 6–12 months are jaw-dropping: Global managed services market growing from $275B in 2024 → projected $400B+ by 202. 73% of enterprises now say their #1 IT priority is “improving service reliability & customer experience” (up from 49% just two years ago) – 2025 Companies that moved to proactive. And here’s what makes me especially proud: At 1 Green Planet Electronics Recycling, we’re not just watching this shift; we’re helping lead it. In the last 12 months alone, we rolled out free pickup for our clients. We have committed to hosting more weekend events to meet people where they are. The industry is finally rewarding the things we’ve believed in for years: relentless focus on uptime, white-glove experience, and treating every client like our only client. So thank you to the entire 1GP team, everyone behind the scenes, for making these numbers real every single day. The best part? We’re just getting started. Here’s to ending the week strong and heading into 2026 even stronger. 🚀 #ManagedServices #CustomerExperience #ThankYouTeam #1GP #Recycling #EWaste #RewardingWork Debris to Green Recycling

🌎National Recycling Day is this Saturday! Every November 15, we celebrate National Recycling Day to remind ourselves why recycling matters—and how each of us can make a difference in reducing waste and protecting our environment. Here in Washington, we’re fortunate to have strong residential recycling laws, accessible bins, and the newly passed Recycling Reform Act, which will make recycling at home more affordable and practical for everyone. But there’s still work to do. Did you know construction and demolition (C&D) recycling plays a huge role in landfill diversion? According to the Department of Ecology: ✅The commercial sector accounts for 86% of separated recyclables and 59% of organics. ✅Yet, of the 17.5 million tons of recoverable waste generated in Washington in 2021, only 49% was recovered for recycling or composting. That means millions of tons of recyclable material still end up in landfills. Investing in more C&D recycling can help that, and even if you don’t own a construction company, you can still make a difference! Here’s how you can help: 👉Remodeling or moving? Choose LEED-certified or green building contractors—they meet recycling standards and prioritize sustainability. 👉Working with a small contractor? Ask them to provide both garbage and recycling bins onsite. If they need help, give us a call! 👉Want help finding a contractor who prioritizes sustainability? Give us a call. Our very own Eduardo Campa is a Sustainability Coordinator and has a long list of green-certified contractors to recommend based on your location and job size. 👉DIY projects? Drop off recyclable materials like wood, metal, drywall, and mattresses at one of our locations. It’s often cheaper than the landfill. 👉Tech upgrades? Bring old electronics to our 1 Green Planet location in Renton. E-waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams, and recycling it prevents hazardous materials from entering landfills. Together, we can build a circular economy and move closer to zero waste in Washington. Join us this National Recycling Day—take one action to reduce waste. Share this post and inspire others to do the same! #NationalRecyclingDay #RecycleRight #CircularEconomy #ZeroWaste #Sustainability #GreenBuilding #EwasteRecycling #WashingtonState #EnvironmentalImpact #ReduceReuseRecycle

In Honor of Veterans Day and Veterans History Awareness Month Today, we pause to honor the men and women who have served in our armed forces. At DTG, we’re proud to work alongside veterans on our team, to work with military bases across Western Washington as a recycling partner, and all of the veteran-owned and veteran-run businesses we work with year-round. Western Washington is home to one of the highest concentrations of military bases in the country. That proximity reminds us daily that freedom is not guaranteed—it’s protected by those who choose to wear the uniform and take the oath to defend our nation and the freedom for every person to pursue life, liberty, and happiness. To all veterans: thank you. For your courage, your sacrifice, and your continued service—today and every day, we are grateful. And for anyone who is looking for ways to honor veterans this month, check out the Washington Department of Veterans Affairs page: Honor Veterans History Awareness Month: https://lnkd.in/gHWEUNXQ

The Big Dark Is Here — Let’s Keep Each Other Safe on the Roads With Daylight Saving Time ending this past Sunday, we’ve officially entered the “Big Dark” here in the Pacific Northwest. For our drivers, that means more hours on the road in low visibility, often with slick conditions. We share the road with thousands of commuters every day, and we appreciate everyone who practices defensive driving to help prevent collisions. If you’re driving a passenger vehicle, here are a few ways you can help keep yourself — and others — safe when sharing the road with commercial trucks: - Give trucks more room to stop. Heavier vehicles take longer to brake. While it might be tempting to zip past and merge in front of a semi, doing so can increase the risk of a rear-end collision. Trucks often travel slower for a reason — they need more time and space to slow down safely. - Stay out of blind spots. The larger the vehicle, the larger the blind spot. If you’re driving alongside a truck, there’s a chance the driver can’t see you. Our DTG trucks are equipped with cameras and mirrors, and our drivers are trained to double-check before changing lanes — but you can help by not lingering in a truck’s blind spot longer than necessary. - Make room for wide turns. Commercial vehicles need extra space to turn, especially in roundabouts or multi-lane intersections. If you see a truck signaling a turn, yield a little space — it’s a small courtesy that can prevent a big accident. - These small adjustments might slow you down by a few seconds, but they could save you hours — or even your life — if they help prevent a collision. Thanks for doing your part to keep our roads safe during the darker months and all year long. We’re proud to drive alongside you. #workersafety #sharetheroad #safedriving #smithsystemofdriving

Celebrating a Big Win for Transparency and Sustainability! We’re proud to share that our Hudson location has officially been certified by the Recycling Certification Institute (RCI), a nationally recognized organization that ensures integrity, transparency, accuracy, and reliability in the recovery and recycling reports of C&D facilities. This certification is more than a badge—it’s a reflection of our commitment to doing things the right way. Being RCI-certified means our facility has been independently evaluated and verified to report accurate diversion and recycling rates, following nationally recognized standards for reporting construction and demolition recycling. Hudson is now our third DTG location to earn this certification, and it marks another milestone in our diversion-first strategy. Our goal is to have every MRF certified, reinforcing our dedication to transparency and continuous improvement. As we work to divert more materials from landfills and build trust with our customers, communities, and partners, this certification is a meaningful recognition that we’re on the right path. Congratulations to Regional Ops Leader Kevin Roach and the entire Hudson Team. Want to learn more about RCI and how they support transparency and accurate reporting in the C&D industry? Last week we had the privilege of hosting State Representative Beth Doglio and other distinguished guests from the State of Washington at our Recovery 1 facility in Tacoma. Led by our Site Supervisor, Larry Brewer, the tour showcased the critical work happening on-site—from the initial analysis of incoming loads to ensure they contain recyclable materials, to the meticulous sorting and separation processes that prepare materials for resale and reuse by partner companies. Larry’s leadership and deep knowledge of operations were on full display, highlighting the essential role our team plays in advancing sustainable waste management. As a company operating MRFs across Kitsap, Snohomish, King, Pierce, and Yakima Counties, we’re committed to building strong partnerships with government leaders and regulators. Transparency, collaboration, and open dialogue are key to achieving our shared goal: diverting as much waste as possible from landfills and contributing to a greener Washington. We’re grateful to our visitors for taking the time to engage with our team, ask thoughtful questions, and learn directly from our employees about the pride they take in their work. Their support and curiosity reinforce the importance of public-private collaboration in driving environmental progress.

Recycling Plastic Isn’t as Simple as It Sounds — But We’re Changing That Ask ten people if plastic is recyclable, and you’ll probably get eleven different answers. That’s because while technically plastic is recyclable, the reality is a lot more complicated. Many local facilities don’t accept it, and even when they do, it often doesn’t make it to the finish line. At DTG, we’re always looking for creative ways to push past those barriers. One of our latest innovations? Turning logistics into a solution. We learned that most plastic recyclers won’t accept small batches — they need volume to make it worthwhile. So we got strategic. We recently secured a warehouse in Seattle’s SODO district, right along a rail line. Now, we’re stockpiling plastic until we can fill multiple freight cars, then shipping it directly to companies that will recycle it. It’s a little unconventional, but that’s kind of our thing. Passion for innovation, commitment to reducing landfill waste, and a drive to rethink what’s possible — that’s DTG. #zerowaste #wastediversion #recyclinginnovation #circulareconomy #supplychaininnovation #greenbusiness #sustainablefuture
