In 1931, the original Dynamatic® Eddy Current Clutch made its debut, where it was used to regulate air conditioning compressors on pullman railroad cars. Developed by the Winther brothers. who had previously built trucks for the US Navy and other demanding applications, this innovation laid the foundation for what would become nearly a century of performance engineering. Approximately 6,900 of these clutches were produced. As Dynamatic approaches its 95th anniversary, it's a reminder that the same commitment to solving tough industrial challenges through reliable engineering continues to drive our work today.
