  • Our VP of IT Programs, Thiagarajan Prakash, PMP, represented DSFederal at the NIH HBCU Biomedical Research Pathways Conference this week. The opening day featured an inspiring keynote and informative panels on centralized acquisitions and GSA Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs), providing valuable insights into the future of federal procurement and research support. The conference reinforced the importance of bringing together NIH stakeholders, academia, and industry partners to exchange ideas. “I’m walking away with actionable data and an expanded network, ready to build future collaborative opportunities that drive meaningful impact,” says Prakash. Did you know that HBCUs currently receive less than 1% of NIH contracting dollars? Developed by the NIH Small Business Program Office's Path to Excellence and Innovation (PEI) Initiative, the new white paper, Advancing HBCU Research Competitiveness: Catalyzing Innovation in the Nation's Biomedical R&D Ecosystem, explores how strategic partnerships, infrastructure support, and acquisition readiness can help expand HBCU participation in NIH grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements. White paper: https://lnkd.in/gBR8-dKx What steps do you think would have the greatest impact on increasing HBCU participation in NIH-funded research and innovation? #NIH #HBCU #PEIinitiative #BiomedicalResearch #Innovation #FederalFunding

  • Thank you to Victoria K. McFarland, PhD and Angela Chiu from the GSA Polaris team for taking the time to meet with DSFederal during our recent one-on-one Polaris WOSB session.   These sessions are a valuable opportunity for awardees to connect directly with the GSA team, learn more about contract administration and marketing strategies, and ask questions about successfully leveraging the Polaris vehicle. We greatly appreciate the time and effort the GSA Polaris team invests in supporting industry partners and helping us better understand how to maximize the value of this important contract vehicle.   One aspect we particularly value is the Polaris team's willingness to engage directly with federal buyers and acquisition professionals to help them better understand the vehicle, available capabilities, and acquisition options. This level of engagement helps agencies efficiently access qualified industry partners while advancing their mission objectives.   DSFederal is honored to be one of the 52 awardees on the Polaris Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). Polaris offers federal agencies a powerful acquisition vehicle for a broad range of IT and emerging technology services, featuring: ✔ A 10-year ordering period (5-year base plus 5-year option) ✔ No contract ceiling, providing agencies flexibility to meet evolving mission needs ✔ Streamlined ordering procedures and fair opportunity competitions ✔ Access to highly qualified WOSB firms across the federal marketplace   We look forward to working with federal agencies and industry partners through Polaris to deliver innovative technology, data, AI, and digital transformation solutions that support mission success. #PolarisGWAC #GSA #TeamDSF #ConnectingTheDots #GovCon
