Mobility is about more than transportation. Ensuring mobility is widely accessible helps empower individuals and their families with economic freedom and opportunity. I recently joined auto dealers, industry experts and community leaders at an event Capital One Auto hosted to discuss how we can provide mobility for all.  The event kicked off with a panel discussion moderated by Capital One’s Sunny Karassik, featuring Inga Maurer from McKinsey & Company, Janille Smith-Colin, PhD, PE from Southern Methodist University and Valerie Lefler from Feonix - Mobility Rising, about the role mobility plays in our everyday lives and how we as an industry can help unlock opportunities through mobility ecosystems. This truly set the stage for the rest of the day of powerful conversations! Attendees then broke out into several sessions for in-depth discussions on how they can drive change. Capital One’s Julian van Giessen moderated a panel featuring Boyd Bishop from Hive Technologies Inc., Kathleen Hale from Builders + Backers and Martha (Marty) Blue from Harvard University. The conversation focused on innovation in the auto industry and leveraging technology to create better customer experiences. #CapitalOnePartner Kelly Suntrup Stumpe The Car Mom joined Cathie Mahon from Inclusiv, Kris Gaerlan from Dallas Lease Returns and moderator Ryan Tomlinson from Capital One to discuss the importance of transparency during the car buying process, and how to build trust through financial literacy. The event featured some great interactive workshops, too! At one led by Elizabeth Caudill McClain from the Dallas Regional Chamber, attendees collaborated on strengthening the talent pipeline with experts like Andrella Thomas, Brandi Harrison Trotter, Brent Franks, Colleen Casey, Ph.D., Katie Mueller and Tony Molla. Capital One's Jared J. and Kathleen Hale also led a workshop where attendees identified real-world mobility challenges and developed innovative solutions in just 90 minutes. We ended the event with #CapitalOnePartner Yossi J Levi Car Dealership Guy joining me on stage for an engaging conversation about the future of mobility and improving access and customer experiences through technology. The Ideas Drive Mobility for All event in Plano, TX, successfully brought together nearly 100 key leaders and innovators to advance the critical mission of expanding mobility access for all. Our discussions underscored how mobility truly powers opportunity. As our Division’s President, Sanjiv Yajnik, emphasized, "Mobility is more than a convenience, it’s a gateway to opportunity." We explored how empowering dealers with insights and technology, including responsible AI, is central to helping people find the right car at the right price while ensuring transportation doesn't become a barrier to socioeconomic mobility.
