Our Bermuda team recently advised DerivaDex Bermuda Ltd. on the launch of its institutional decentralised derivatives trading platform focused on institutional users. Following DAO approval earlier this year and having secured a Class T licence from the Bermuda Monetary Authority under the Digital Asset Business Act 2018, DerivaDex Bermuda Ltd. has now gone live underscoring Bermuda’s continued commitment to innovative and well regulated digital asset frameworks. Today, I am proud to announce that DerivaDEX is live and onboarding traders. The platform has officially launched as the first DAO-governed decentralized derivatives exchange, and is operating with a regulatory license from the Bermuda Monetary Authority. For too long, DeFi has forced a trade-off where you could have the transparency of on-chain settlement or the speed necessary for professional trading, but rarely both. DerivaDEX eliminates that compromise. It is delivering execution speeds comparable to centralized platforms with sub-5ms latency, while ensuring that funds remain fully non-custodial so users retain direct control of their assets. The platform has also engineered front-running resistance and trusted execution environments to prevent the market manipulation that often plagues on-chain venues. Innovation flourishes when paired with thoughtfully tailored regulation. By obtaining a license from the BMA, we are proving that decentralization and institutional standards are not mutually exclusive.
