Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (#GIST) are the most common type of sarcoma affecting the gastrointestinal tract. According to the American Cancer Society, the total number of GIST cases each year in the U.S. is approximately 4,000 - 6,000 and are most commonly found in people over the age of 50. Deciphera is honored to be featured in the Rewriting Cancer series with a film produced for them by BBC StoryWorks to help tell Sydney Stern’s journey with Tenosynovial giant cell tumour (TGCT). July is #SarcomaAwarenessMonth. This month, we're recognizing the patients, families, clinicians, researchers, and advocates working to fight Sarcomas.  Sarcomas are a rare type of cancer that develop in the bones and soft tissues, and early detection is key to avoid disease progression. Deciphera is committed to the treatment of Sarcomas, including Tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT) and Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST). Happy #PrideMonth from Deciphera!  Pride Month is a time to come together, amplify LGBTQ+ voices, and continue advocating for equality. At Deciphera, we believe in building a community where everyone feels safe, supported, and empowered to live as their authentic selves.  

At Deciphera, we are always looking for the chance to learn and grow our perspectives outside of our everyday work. Our recent Patient Voices series served as a great opportunity to do just that. We would like to extend a huge thank you to the courageous patient and care partner who joined us in telling their story about Multiple System Atrophy, reminding us of the why behind what we do each day. 

Each year, the Deciphera team partners with #TeamRusso to support The Team Russo Lab for Sarcoma Research in partnership with The Jimmy Fund – a Boston-based fundraising campaign directly benefiting the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This fundraiser hits close to home for all of us at Deciphera, and we were honored to participate in another successful campaign this year. Events like these remind us that making a meaningful impact extends beyond our everyday work, and also includes supporting the communities around us.

Today, we recognize Juneteenth—a day reminding us of resilience, freedom, and the ongoing journey toward justice. At Deciphera, we believe that innovation thrives in diversity, and thank those who have contributed towards a healthier, more equitable future.

Today we announced that the first patient has been dosed in the Phase 3 study in patients with polycythemia vera (PV). We had a great time attending the recent #EHA2026 congress in Stokholm, Sweden! We were thrilled for the chance to connect with colleagues, clinicians, and other #hematology specialists on the ground. The team was proud to discuss insights from the IMPRESSION study and #PolycythemiaVera programs. Many thanks to the organizers, speakers, and attendees who made this week so impactful.
