👏 Please join us in welcoming Jacob Duckett to the D9 Technologies team! We're excited to welcome Jake, our Business Intelligence Analyst, to the D9 team. With a 20-year background in analytics, machine learning, and critical information systems development, Jake will be working alongside our clients to help put data and AI to work in meaningful ways. His role spans everything from developing data governance and retention strategies, integrating data from multiple sources, and performing exploratory analysis, to building analytics and machine learning solutions, managing big data processing pipelines, and helping organizations securely integrate AI capabilities into their existing environments. Beyond client work, Jake will also play an important role in expanding D9's research and development efforts as we continue exploring how AI-enabled systems can better support small and medium-sized businesses. When asked why he chose D9, Jake shared that it was the combination of the team's experience, integrity, and dedication to solving real business problems that stood out to him. "I think data and intelligent systems are going to have to become second nature to business fast, and I'm excited to contribute my part." One thing he's especially looking forward to? Applying his experience to help solve complex challenges for businesses right here in our local community. When a company is acquired, the IT work is just beginning. We've been supporting a recent acquisition by handling the full technology integration — starting with migrating their Microsoft 365 tenant into the parent company’s environment. 💼➡️🏢 Next up: migrating their on-prem servers to the Columbus data center. We’re also approved to install AXIS security cameras and door access control at their facility. Just like our other warehouse deployments, we’ll be integrating everything with Active Directory for fast, consistent permissions management. What if giving a visitor building access was as simple as sending them a text? 📲🚪 We're deploying AXIS cameras and door access control at a new facility — and this one comes with a feature we're especially excited about: our custom visitor management system. Here's how it works: a visitor receives a QR code via email or text. They scan it at the door station camera. The door unlocks, and the employee they are there to see gets notified automatically. No front desk required. Today we're highlighting Becki Fryer, our HR & Accounting Manager, and one of the people who quietly keeps D9 running at full speed. 👟 Becki handles a little bit of everything — accounting, payroll, HR, purchasing, and pretty much anything that needs attention. She’s the definition of dependable, and her ability to jump between roles while keeping things organized makes her a huge part of our day‑to‑day success. 💪 Her path to D9 is a unique one. Becki actually brought D9 into her previous workplace, and after 15 years there, she reached out to Eric while exploring her next step. After talking with Matt and Eric, it was clear the fit was right. She believed in the direction D9 was heading and wanted to be part of building that future — and we’re glad she trusted that instinct. Her favorite part of the job: The people. Becki loves working with a team she genuinely enjoys being around, and it shows in the way she supports everyone. Fun fact: She loves the ocean — it’s her happy place. 🏖️ Recent accomplishment: With her team, Becki helped build a full Project Management Process from estimating all the way through invoicing — a major upgrade that strengthens how we operate. We just wrapped up our largest complete warehouse project to date, and we couldn't be prouder of the result. 🏭 Our expert team designed and deployed a comprehensive end-to-end infrastructure solution, covering everything from switches and access points to firewalls and all structured cabling. On top of the robust network buildout, we installed and configured Axis Communications door access control and AXIS security cameras throughout the entire facility, ensuring top-tier physical security. 🔗 The highlight? Welcoming our summer interns: Braden and Payton 👋 Bringing on interns isn't about extra hands. It's about giving people early in their careers real exposure to how a business actually runs — and learning from the energy they bring in return. This summer we're lucky to have two of them. Braden Schaurer is a rising junior at the University of Dayton studying Finance and Accounting, and he's already working across more of the business than most interns touch in a full year. He's helping build out our incentive efficiency model to sharpen our performance metrics, documenting and refining our accounting procedures for cleaner day-to-day operations, and even pitching in on marketing. He's been deliberate about understanding how each function connects — and that curiosity, paired with real discipline, has made him an asset fast. Payton Blevins just graduated from high school and heads to The Ohio State University this fall. As our Digital Marketing Intern, she's creating and scheduling content for our LinkedIn and YouTube channels, and picking up the tools and strategy behind it quickly. She was drawn to the close-knit team here, and she's already a great fit for it. Her favorite part of the job? Exploring new ideas and working directly with the whole office. (When she's not with us, you'll find her at Vinnie and Velvet / Fizzy Sips and Sweets, a consignment boutique and dirty soda shop in Franklin, Ohio.) Today we’re excited to highlight Joe Nickel, one of our dedicated Field Services Technicians here at D9. In his role, Joe handles on‑site installation, troubleshooting, and repairs across a wide range of systems — including cameras, access points, door control systems, data lines, speakers, and MDF/IDF rack setups. His technical skillset and reliability make him a key part of our field operations. Joe originally joined D9 expecting it to be a short‑term role, but quickly found a team, culture, and future he wanted to grow with. We’re grateful he chose to stay — and continues to make an impact every day. Joe’s favorite part of the job? Exploring new cities and traveling to different project sites across the region.
