Your biggest AI cost in software development is not the API bill. It is the three engineers in a room debating whether Copilot's suggestion is actually correct. New review checklists for AI-generated PRs. QA processes rebuilt because the code looks right but behaves differently than a human would have written it. Validation workflows nobody scoped when they rolled out the tooling. Compute costs are predictable. The organizational overhead of trusting probabilistic systems is something teams are figuring out in real time. And most of them did not budget for it. #AI #SoftwareEngineering #EngineeringLeadership

Beterra Health builds tools that help healthcare systems assess patient safety gaps and act on them. Co-founder Daniel Bailey ran an extensive search for a development partner before choosing Cuttlesoft. What set Cuttlesoft apart came down to intent. Daniel describes it: "They wanted to know more about what we were trying to create in the world than the specifics of how we would get there." Over three and a half years, the engagement has grown from product engineering into strategic planning. Cuttlesoft works with mid-level engineers and senior technology strategists alongside Beterra's leadership to shape both the product and the company's direction. #HealthTech #PatientSafety #SoftwarePartnership

Hunt a Killer built a subscription mystery game with physical clue packages mailed to players. The digital side of the experience had to ship in sync with physical production timelines, which meant the dev partner could not go quiet for two weeks and surface with a demo. Brian Thomas, co-founder: "Cuttlesoft's level of communication set them apart for me." When the integration points between physical and digital products are that tight, weekly status emails do not cut it. You need a team that communicates at the speed the product demands. #HuntAKiller #ClientTestimonials

Four supply chain attacks hit widely used open source packages in three weeks. Then a breach at one of the largest frontend platforms. Five incidents. The pattern is accelerating. Most teams treat dependency security as a CI checkbox. Pin versions, run Dependabot, move on. But these attacks targeted the build and publish pipeline itself, not the source code. We wrote up what happened and why the standard defenses did not catch it. https://lnkd.in/eRH4JS3W #SupplyChainSecurity #OpenSource

36 million Americans get migraines. Most track symptoms in a notes app or a paper journal, then try to summarize patterns for their doctor from memory. Easeday replaced that with a digital therapeutics platform. It tracks triggers and correlates patterns to deliver treatment protocols validated in clinical trials. It is the first app proven to reduce headache frequency. We built the system that connects real-time patient data to adaptive treatment plans. As more data comes in, the recommendations get more specific to each user. https://lnkd.in/epCknAFF #DigitalTherapeutics #MigraineRelief

Google Cloud has 200+ services. Most teams use about 12 of them and never touch the rest. The problem is picking the right 12. We have set up GCP environments for teams building in healthcare, fintech, and life sciences. The constraints are different every time: HIPAA-compliant logging in one project, SOC 2 audit trails in another, GPU workloads in a third. That is what GCP consulting actually looks like. Not a generic architecture diagram, but choices shaped by your compliance requirements and your deploy cadence. https://lnkd.in/eQVsSp33 #GoogleCloud #CloudConsulting

Anyone offering a firm discount on a software project because of AI productivity gains is making a bet, not a measurement. The tooling is real. Copilot, Claude, Cursor. Engineers use them daily. But the cost of running those tools, reviewing their output, and fixing what they get wrong is not zero. And it shifts where the effort lands rather than eliminating it. We broke down where AI actually saves time, where it creates new costs, and what that means for how development partners should be pricing work right now. https://lnkd.in/dGaFT3iF #AI #SoftwareEngineering

Dropworks built a digital droplet PCR device called FluxPCR that simplifies workflows for lab technicians and researchers. The middleware connecting their hardware to the user interface had to handle real-time data, remote logging, and secure authentication. That is where Cuttlesoft came in. Eric Beppler, PE Director of Electrical and Software Engineering at Dropworks, puts it simply: "They've become a part of our organization and understand our needs as well as we do." The Python middleware we built sits between the PCR hardware and the UI, managing live data streams during runs. When the team bridging your hardware and software understands the science behind it, the handoffs get shorter. Eric chose Cuttlesoft because he expects better integration from his development partners. https://lnkd.in/ggANaU_P #ExpectBetter #Biotech #PCR

The e-commerce tech stack that works at 100 orders a day rarely survives 10,000. Shopify, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce solve the first problem well. But subscription models, custom fulfillment logic, and multi-warehouse inventory create edge cases that platform plugins can't handle cleanly. The question is when to rebuild. Most teams wait until they are spending more time working around the platform than working on the product. By then the migration is twice as expensive as it would have been a year earlier. #Ecommerce #SaaS #TechStrategy

280,657 lines of code added across Cuttlesoft repos in Q1 2026. Twenty-five active repos, one small team. That number is not about headcount. It is about focused engineering time on client products, with room left over for maintaining our open source packages and improving internal tools. #GitHub #SoftwareEngineering
