I know I've posted about this - but It's always cool to see Fast Company swag in the office with your name on it. Good times!
At Curio we believe that we can tackle critical global issues facing humanity by innovating our way out of them. Having dedicated ourselves to the development of key nuclear technologies that produce a closed nuclear cycle, we believe the 2nd nuclear era is the future we've all been waiting for. With clean nuclear power at the foundation of its credo, Curio envisions a world where the United States is an energy exporter and a supplier of next-generation cancer therapies at humanitarian pricing for all.

We are proud to announce that Curio has engaged with Sargent & Lundy to begin the engineering design phase of our #NuCycle facility - another critical step toward commercialization of our #nuclearfuel recycling technology. The design effort now underway includes site evaluation, development of facility design criteria, and conceptual design of the process building and supporting facilities — advancing the project toward detailed design, NRC licensing, and a sustainable domestic #nuclearfuelcycle. https://lnkd.in/gjwpVrWj #Nuclearenergy #advancedreactors #spentnuclearfuel #wastemanagement #energysecurity #2ndNuclearEra #usednuclearfuel #UNF #NuclearWasteManagement The Synergos Fund Synergos Holdings Cricket Public Relations Edward McGinnis Yechezkel Moskowitz Yehudah Moskowitz Leeaht Guzi Michelle Boquiren Urben U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission

Okay... so here's the dealio. The U.S. government has spent over $9 BILLION paying utilities to store nuclear fuel it promised to pick up. Not to recycle it. Not to reuse it. Just to sit on it. That's BONKERS because 96% of that fuel is still usable energy. We use 3-4%, call it "waste," and then spend billions figuring out where to bury it. Edward McGinnis from Curio LV put it like this: "It's like filling up your car in DC, toward Richmond, pulling over, calling a tow truck, and scrapping the whole car with a full tank of gas." Isn't that crazy? And it gets worse. The Government Accountability Office says the government is now paying over $1 billion a YEAR in court-ordered damages because it broke its own commitment. That number keeps climbing. So what if we could actually recycle that fuel instead of burying it? Curio's NuCycle process does exactly that... without ever separating pure plutonium. I was genuinely curious how this works and Ed broke it all down for us. If you want to understand why 90,000+ metric tons of used fuel might actually be our biggest untapped energy resource... this one's worth a listen. 🎙️https://lnkd.in/eeTdXqtW 📄 GAO Report: https://lnkd.in/ekWPktur #NuclearEnergy #SpentFuel #NakedNuclear #EnergyPolicy #NuclearCareers

“When we build our first commercial [facility] at ~4,000 metric tons a year throughput, that’s more than the global output combined. We have done this with five national labs thanks to the leadership and vision of ARPA-E.” - Edward McGinnis, Curio LV CEO 🌎 ARPA-E funded Curio LV’s mission to develop the advanced head-end processing and fluorination steps of its used nuclear fuel recycling process, NuCycleTM, at the laboratory scale. NuCycle leverages well-understood chemical processes and accommodates a variety of fuel types, including molten salts and nitride fuels. The advanced head-end processing and fluorination steps will produce UF6 that is suitable for re-enrichment while keeping plutonium with the remaining actinides and fission products for further processing. ⚡ Learn more about the Curio LV mission here: https://lnkd.in/ewVYDcQK.
Welcome to the newest member of our leadership team, Paul Oleyar, who will take the reins as Curio's Director of #QualityAssurance starting Monday, July 6. “Paul is an established industry leader in quality assurance, having led multiple teams across business lines and functionalities,” said Edward McGinnis, President & CEO of Curio LV. “We are looking forward to his contributions as we continue our efforts to commercialize our award-winning, first-of-a-kind #NuCycle technology.” https://lnkd.in/gUJczqHq #Nuclearenergy #advancedreactors #spentnuclearfuel #wastemanagement #energysecurity #Nucycle #2ndNuclearEra #usednuclearfuel #UNF #NuclearWasteManagement The Synergos Fund Synergos Holdings Cricket Public Relations Yechezkel Moskowitz Yehudah Moskowitz Michelle Boquiren Urben

Russia's announcement that it plans to build a 441-ton-per-year spent nuclear fuel recycling facility should get everyone's attention. China has already made enormous investments across the nuclear fuel cycle and continues to expand its capabilities. I would not be surprised to see additional major announcements from Beijing as this strategic competition accelerates. This is exactly why we founded Curio LV, why we created Synergos Holdings, and why we launched The Synergos Fund. Our vision has always been bigger than a single company. We believe the United States and its allies must build a parallel Western energy economy. In nuclear, that starts by closing the fuel cycle. With #NuCycle, we're pursuing a technology designed not around government subsidies or the latest industry trend, but around commercial reality: recovering valuable materials, minimizing waste, strengthening energy security, and creating a competitive fuel cycle for the West. The future of nuclear leadership won't be decided solely by who builds the most reactors. It will be determined by who can supply fuel, recycle used fuel, recover strategic materials, minimize waste, and provide trusted fuel cycle services to allies around the world. The next generation of nuclear infrastructure is being built today. The question is simple: Will the West lead—or follow? We intend to help build that Western alternative. Together with strong industrial partners like Orano | Orano USA and others across the allied world, we believe the West can once again become the global leader in the nuclear fuel cycle. Competition drives innovation. Join our vision and lets get to work. https://lnkd.in/emyJD6VW
