Congratulations to Mark Greatrex on his appointment as board chair of American Rivers! Mark's leadership reflects something we care deeply about at Cox: Healthy rivers supporting stronger communities for people and wildlife alike. Through the James M. Cox Foundation, we gifted $10 million — the largest grant in American Rivers' history — to advance river restoration efforts in all 50 states. And we're excited to see what's next! #coxconserves #purposeatcox #healthyrivers #sustainability
I’m honored to share that I’ve been named Board Chair of American Rivers. My connection to this work is personal. Over the years, I’ve seen how closely a community’s future is tied to the health of the water that runs through it—and what’s at stake when that isn’t protected. That’s what drew me to American Rivers as a board member, and it’s why I’m grateful for the opportunity to step into this role. I’ve had the chance to see the organization’s impact up close—joining river cleanups, visiting restoration sites with fellow board members, and working alongside @tomkiernan and this team on partnerships that deliver real, on-the-ground results. Healthy rivers support healthy communities and stronger economies, and that responsibility matters. I want to thank Jo-Ellen Darcy for the leadership and foundation built as Chair, and the entire Board for their trust. I look forward to working with our staff, partners, and supporters to continue advancing this important work. Looking forward to what’s ahead—and to keeping Life Depends on Rivers® at the center of it. #AmericanRivers #RiverRestoration #Conservation #CleanWater #BoardLeadership
