GOOD NEWS! 🎉 We just 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 a vital wildlife corridor in Putnam County. Inside the 12,000-acre 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮, a privately-owned parcel remained vulnerable to development. Acres where bobcats prowl, scrub jays call, and black bears raise their cubs. This place could have been lost. Now, it's 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙. That means: 🐾 More connected habitat for wildlife 🌴 More public land to explore 💧 More protection for Florida's water resources This conservation success was made possible through a partnership between Conservation Florida, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, landowners Andrew and Lawrence Longhi, and 𝘆𝗼𝘂 – Floridians who believe places like this are worth saving. We’re saddened to share that in just one week, two more Florida panthers have been lost - both of them females. Both struck by vehicles in Collier County. 💔 There are fewer than 200 wild Florida panthers left on the planet, and they all share a home with you and us. We’re so sad to hear of this loss - of mothers to future kittens & cubs. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿. 𝗧𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 & 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.
