How does Japan continue producing players ready for Europe? FC Tokyo's Director of Scouting & Methodology Jiro Kitahara says: “Scouting is the most important element in football. We can learn a lot from The Book of Scouting. It will be helpful for anyone in the football industry.” As part of the Football Forum Hungary, Comparisonator CEO Tarkan Batgun had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with Jiro Kitahara (Who is one of the world wide participant writer in The Book of Scouting Volume One), discussing how clubs build player pathways, develop coaching structures, and prepare talent for the highest level of football. Jiro Kitahara is one of the key figures behind scouting methodology and player development at FC Tokyo, working at the intersection of academy structure, coaching education, and long-term talent planning. His perspective reflects how modern Japanese football continues to create players capable of succeeding both domestically and across Europe. Rather than focusing only on players, we spoke about the systems behind them, because successful recruitment starts long before the transfer market.
