80 000 euroa pienemmät rakentamiskustannukset ilman, että energiatehokkuudesta tarvitsee tinkiä! Tekniikka&Talous nosti esiin Combient Pure ja Kotkan Julkiset Kiinteistöt Oy kanssa toteuttaman hankkeemme, jossa osoitimme simulointiin perustuvan energiasuunnittelun vaikutuksen käytännössä. Kiitos jutusta! Liian usein energiatehokkuutta tarkastellaan vain investointien lisäämisen näkökulmasta. Meidän tavoitteemme on päinvastainen: löytää ratkaisut, joilla saavutetaan haluttu energiatehokkuus mahdollisimman kustannustehokkaasti.

Circularity, and reuse in particular, is receiving increasing attention in the HVAC industry, but the journey from pilot projects to industrial-scale implementation is not always straightforward. Through the Nordic Circularity Piloting Program, we partnered with Vasakronan, Skanska, Demontera and Lindab Sverige and tested the dismantling, refurbishment and reuse of HVAC products in real projects. The pilot encountered practical challenges regarding costs, responsibilities, quality assurance and business models for circular flows. The findings showed that reuse is often not limited by technical capability. Instead, early planning, clear roles and suitable incentives are key factors in making circular practices doable in project delivery. Caroline Jacobsson, Circularity Director at Swegon, shares learnings and reflections from the project in our latest blog post. #Feelgoodinside

The technology works. The climate case is clear. Now the conditions around circular solutions in technical building equipment need to catch up. After eight pilots across Finland, Sweden and Norway, the Nordic Circularity Piloting Program has put seven concrete policy reflections on the table for Nordic decision makers — from mandatory circular procurement to CE marking reform and a joint Nordic circular market for technical installations. → Enable a Nordic circular market for technical building solutions → Make circular requirements mandatory in public procurement → Set binding circularity targets in building codes → Use economic incentives to make circular solutions competitive → Set climate-aligned lifecycle GWP thresholds → Remove CE marking barriers for refurbished products → Develop Chromium VI field testing to unlock duct reuse Because circular practice can't stay the exception. It needs to become the default. Read the blog and the full report via links in the comments 👇 Picture: Lindab Cradlenet Sofia Sundström #CircularEconomy #Policy #BuiltEnvironment #NordicInnovation

Circularity in technical building solutions doesn't follow one path. After eight pilots across HVAC, elevators, access systems, sanitary equipment and electrical systems in Finland, Sweden and Norway, the Nordic Circularity Piloting Program has mapped three distinct flow types for how circular technical installations work in practice: ♻️ Producer-led flows ♻️ Flows within one property owner's portfolio ♻️ Flows between different property owners Each one shifts who leads, who carries the risk, and where the new business value lies. Curious which flow fits your business? Read the blog and the full report for more info. Links in the comments👇 Picture by: Staaltro #CircularEconomy #BuiltEnvironment #NordicInnovation #Circularity

  • Carbon already carries a cost for all businesses, and that cost is rising - but is your business embedding this metric into operational decision-making, or leaving climate to the level of ambitious high-level targets? Last week we highlighted how leading companies in the Combient network are moving climate from a reporting exercise to the business core. Internal carbon pricing (ICP) is one of the most powerful ways to accelerate this internal transition, translating emissions into a financial language. For forward-thinking industrial companies, ICP is rapidly evolving into a core strategic tool that showcases how decarbonization impacts costs, risks, and returns. The full insights on how to implement ICP effectively, from the Combient Business Opportunity on Internal Carbon Pricing for Efficient Decarbonization, are out now - available to Combient Associated Companies on Combient Twin. ✨

Carbon is already on your balance sheet. The question is whether you can see it. 📈 Through supply chain costs, tightening customer requirements, and expanding regulations, industrial companies are absorbing carbon costs whether they price them internally or not. The ones who make that cost visible gain something the others don't: the ability to make better decisions with it. Internal carbon pricing (ICP) is a strategic tool to make the risks and opportunities associated with carbon visible to the business. This past spring, we explored how industrial companies can best implement ICP mechanisms to drive not just compliance but also competitive advantage during the Combient Business Opportunity Sprint with five Combient Associated Companies — Autoliv, Konecranes, Nefab, Roxtec Group, and SKF Group. A few things stood out: ⚙️ The mechanism matters less than most people think. A shadow price and a carbon fee can be equally effective — what determines impact is the price level, the scope of emissions covered, and how deeply it's embedded in actual decisions. 👥 It's a change management challenge first, a technical one second. Without a champion in finance leadership, ICP remains a sustainability project. 🚀 Start small. Companies making real progress pick one business unit, test a price, and iterate. Perfection is a reason to delay, not a prerequisite. The full Sprint insights, final report, and webinar recording are now available on Combient Twin and are accessible to all Combient Associated Companies. 💻 #InternalCarbonPricing #Sustainability #Manufacturing #Decarbonization

  • The Scope 3 planning era is over. Now comes the hard part. For the third year running, we surveyed companies across the Combient network on their progress toward value chain decarbonization. With a record 27 respondents, this year's results mark a real turning point. Climate is moving from a reporting exercise to the core of the business. Companies are embedding decarbonization into management incentives, products & offerings, and deploying concrete investments to reduce emissions in areas that bring benefits for both climate and competitiveness. Three things stood out in this year's data: 🔗 Deeper integration: Targets are being tied to top management performance, and Scope 3 is increasingly shaping how companies design products, select suppliers, and structure partnerships. 🤝 New friction, new solutions: The technical barriers like data and emission reducing tech are receding. The work now is about collaboration — aligning across organizations, engaging suppliers, and building shared momentum with customers. 💡 Investment urgency. With 2030 four years away, the initiatives being funded today will define companies' carbon trajectories. The business case for Scope 3 is becoming clearer, now the question is whether ambition is being matched with real resources and how we get from piloting decarbonization to real scale.
