When Peter Zollo and Jimmy Zollo asked me to contribute to their series on timing of care communities, I wanted to push all of us to re-think the typical paradigm. The typical advice is focused on safety, caregiver burnout, finances, etc. Everything is through that lense. We then make decisions that seem to make sense but end up cutting off the very things that make life worth living. I believe we have to start with a different set of questions: 1) What location or services will give the elder I care about the best shot at being fully human in their own unique way? 2) What do I need so that I can show up fully present in their life as my best self? https://lnkd.in/gSAadyja
