ClampOn is a privately owned Norwegian company. The company was founded in 1994. ClampOn has become the leading worldwide supplier of topside and subsea non-intrusive ultrasonic intelligent sensors for sand/particle monitoring, pig detection, leak monitoring, vibration monitoring and corrosion-erosion monitoring. We work with our customers in the oil & gas industry to optimize their well productivity and to safeguard their investments. Uncomplicated technology, modular design, easy installation and little or no calibration are watchwords for ClampOn's range of instruments. Our approach to the market has been very well received by all our clients world-wide. Our leading-edge technology has mad ClampOn capable and competitive in offering the products that the customers are looking for. Our reference list is an expression of this. Sand Management & Support is part of our service available for oil companies. ClampOn can monitor and maintain installed sand monitoring systems from the ClampOn office, giving the operators all the information they need to produce safely with regards to sand. Our non-intrusive sensors for both topside and subsea corrosion and erosion monitoring are well established in the market. Operators all over the world produce safely with the real-time monitoring of wall thickness loss that our sensors provide.

    From satellite maps to real world lessons🌏 We recently installed BIRD Particle Monitors at an underground gas storage site in Europe. Last month, we returned after the customer asked us to move one of the sensors to a different well location. As the new location was in a different part of the field, the relocation provided an opportunity to verify that reliable wireless communication could be maintained within the existing ClampOn Mesh network. Along with reinstalling the sensor, we added a BIRD repeater to support communication with the remote location. The goal was simple: confirm stable network performance and ensure reliable data transmission across the updated setup. Before traveling, we reviewed the site using Google Earth. From the satellite view, the area looked like flat farmland. Once on site, the reality was quite different. Variations in terrain and vegetation had a clear impact on line of sight, and signal quality was lower than expected. We decided to reposition the repeater higher above ground. The effect was immediate. With improved line of sight, we achieved stable communication and successfully received live sand monitoring data from sensors located around 1,300 meters away. Seeing real time data on a mobile phone via ClampOn Cloud confirmed that the adjustment worked. It also highlighted the strength of the ClampOn Mesh network and the BIRD Particle Monitor system in real conditions. This experience is a good reminder of the value of getting out in the field.     How ClampOn BIRDs differ from other birds🐧 ClampOn Birds performs multiple tasks individually and as a flock. Like penguins they cannot fly. ClampOn Birds are placed at strategic points within and around an asset. Like hummingbirds ClampOn Birds hears ultrasonic sounds, which they use to monitor unwanted condition changes, such as localized leaks, high sand production, pig passages and more. Like Ibises they will sense even the smallest of vibration, keeping track of any unwanted pipework or structural vibration that could lead to fatigue and failure. Like Brush Turkeys ClampOn Birds accurately senses the temperature at its foot, making sure that operating conditions are within the safe operational window. What is most impressive is that compared to real-live birds where different species have different specialties, a single ClampOn Bird can perform several or all above-mentioned tasks by itself and at the same time. In example a single ClampOn Bird can be tasked with monitoring the pipe temperature, and internal passing of nearby valve, or it could monitor for sand production and flow induced vibration. This is possible due to the complex sensory platform using a combination of military grade, highly accurate MEMS accelerometers, Piezo electric acoustic transducers and temperature sensors as well as the very latest processing technology. Fortunately, ClampOn Birds don’t tend to migrate when the weather gets cold. Like other arctic birds, they enjoy harsh weather conditions, ranging from extremely low to extremely high temperatures, enabling monitoring at the most challenging locations. Like Crows, ClampOn Birds instantly communicate with the whole flock over long distances, even if not all the birds in the flock are not within line of sight with each other. This way any unwanted conditions are instantly reported between the birds, and back to the nest (router), then through direct communication lines to client control system or via internet to ClampOn’s web-based cloud console where the end user will be alerted of any unwanted condition or state. Like endurance birds, that can fly over 10 000km without taking a break. ClampOn Birds are able to monitor in real time, perform advance signal processing, and broadcast the results wirelessly for more than a year using only a small battery cell. This is thanks to the very latest electronic hardware combined with clever programming and onboard AI.
