Big news from the fields for the fields: This week, we showcased our latest innovations in tractors and harvesting technology to the European trade press and content creators at our Summer Media Event. 🌾🚜✨   During a spectacular live show at Loermann’s farm, we unveiled our latest “Innovations for Generations”, introducing numerous groundbreaking products set to conquer the agricultural landscape. This includes:   🆕 Three new large tractors from the AXION 8 CMATIC range. They come with the new VISOR front design, a new, large cab with noise levels reduced to a maximum of 67 dB(A) as well as premium seats. The tractors also feature the new CEBIS connect HMI (human-machine-interface), efficient engines, the new CEMOS AUTO POWERTRAIN including the awarded adaptive drivetrain management with AUTO LOAD ANTICIPATION as well as future-proof digital connectivity.   🆕 Two new models with 145 and 165 hp round off our ARION 6 CMATIC series. They feature exclusive comfort features such as premium driver’s seats with a massage function, a high-end multimedia system, and the groundbreaking AUTO LOAD ANTICIPATION for its CMATIC drive train.   🆕 New VOLTO tedders with working widths from 6.60 to 10.80 m and HD PERMALINK power train.   🆕 The launch of our TORION 537e SINUS. The compact and manoeuvrable six-tonne-class wheel loader features a locally emission-free battery-electric drive for up to 16 hours range with fast intermediate charging.   🆕 Further expansion of our CLAAS connect digital platform. 90 years ago: A failed prototype, skeptical farmers, and a bold vision that changed European agriculture.   In the late 1920s, imported combine harvesters failed on European soil and experts quickly dismissed the technology. However, August Claas, Prof. Karl Vormfelde, and Walter Brenner refused to give up.   When their first highly complex prototype stalled in the fields, they embraced a pragmatic solution. They combined a reaper-binder with a compact thresher to create the Mäh-Dresch-Binder (MDB).   The definitive test arrived in 1936 at the Zschernitz estate in Saxony. Manager Karl Haberland took a massive risk on this unproven technology. For three days, CLAAS engineers worked directly in the fields. They made constant adjustments late into the night until the machine ran flawlessly. This historic "Victory of Zschernitz" proved that European combine harvesting worked perfectly.   Yet, the real breakthrough required more than a brilliant design. It demanded trust. CLAAS professionals worked directly alongside farmers. A full farming year in three days in one place! 🌾🚜   From June 16-18, we brought the complete annual crop cycle to the DLG Field Days in Bernburg, Saxony-Anhalt. Around our central show truck, farmers explored digital solutions for machine and farm management, spanning from initial sowing and fertilisation to final harvest and storage.   The surrounding test plots featured an impressive machinery lineup: an AXION 9.450 TERRA TRAC with a seed drill, an AXION 9.360, a LEXION 8900 TERRA TRAC equipped with NUTRIMETER GRAIN for nutrient analysis, and a CONVIO cutterbar.   A special guest was Sven Schulze, Minister-President of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, who took the chance to explore our technologies around year-round work in agriculture.   #CLAAS #Agriculture #Farming #Engineering #Innovation

Ever wonder why CLAAS machines wear that iconic green? 🚜 Until exactly 60 years and a day ago, our harvesters roamed the fields in silver. But those silver machines reflected intense sunlight and heated up quickly. We needed a practical solution. In 1966, the SENATOR combine debuted with a revolutionary design by Ernest Igl. Along with modern ergonomics and the famous 14-degree slanted logo, a massive decision loomed: the paint. After reviewing various test shades, founder August Claas actually preferred an elegant silver-blue! However, the majority of the leadership team voted for a fresh, vibrant green. To guarantee the choice would last generations, CLAAS also consulted Germany’s top color psychologist, Dr. Heinrich Frieling. He evaluated the green machine in its natural environment and approved immediately. On June 10, 1966, "Seed Green" became official.
