The Digital Technology Leaders Awards, celebrating 10 years, and the whole room carried a charge from the moment we walked in. I’ve spent weeks judging entries that genuinely stopped me in my tracks. Leaders pushing digital transformation with courage, creativity and heart. The kind of work that reminds you why this industry matters. And then they called my name for - AI Leader of the Year!!!! I felt everything land at once. Gratitude. Fire, Nerves. Little ol’ Mini from Slough, the girl who used to end every sentence with innit and sickkk, now standing on that stage in 2026 being recognised for leadership in AI. If you told younger me this was coming, she would’ve laughed and carried on with life. But here we are. And I’m proud of me. Proud of the journey. Proud of the future I’m building. One of the most powerful moments tonight was hearing Georgina Hargreaves (née Bentley-Leek) from the The Honeypot Children's Charity share her story. Her strength. Her purpose. Her heart. She grounded the entire room and reminded us what leadership really looks like, as a Mum, it hit me deeply. Thank you Tom Allen for the warmth. Thank you Sabrina Shilstone for the energy you bring to every event. Thank you Oliver B. for making me feel so welcome and for sitting right next to me tonight. Thank you Yasmin Ansari for the kindness and the instant comfort. And thank you to Computing and CRN UK for creating a space where digital leaders can stand tall and be seen. Sitting at the judges’ table tonight felt special. The conversations carried energy. The room had a pulse. And #GeorgeZack kept everyone laughing and leaning in. Perfect vibe. Perfect balance. This award is fuel. Fuel to keep pushing responsible AI. Fuel to keep opening doors for representation. Fuel to keep building with intention.
