"Being named a CILT 35 Under 35 winner made me stop and realise how far I had come. It reminded me that your starting point does not define where you can end up." - Roksana Boldys, MILT This year we are celebrating our Chartered Centenary, 100 years of CILT (UK) being a Chartered professional body for logistics, transport and supply chain. To put our members at the heart of this celebration, we are collecting member stories that show the real impact of our profession. 🔗 View Roksana's full story here: https://buff.ly/ffXwPa8 📢 Share your story today: https://buff.ly/QJtpxew #CILTCentenary #chartership #member #story #transport #logistics

Day Two of the 23rd Annual Transport Practitioners' Meeting was a great success! The morning was kicked off by a PTRC fireside chat with Beate Kubitz, Tim Steiner, Kateryna Kryshkevych, CTPP, FHEA and Laurence Chittock. This panel discussion, led by Glenn Lyons, debated the future of transport policy and planning - including what challenges we might face and what skills we can use to overcome them. Delegates split into smaller sessions for the rest of the day to learn from fellow professionals about a wide variety of projects and topics - from understanding travel demand and decarbonisation approaches to designing inclusive, accessible and safer streets. Following a networking lunch and workshops on generative AI, the hierarchy of road users, new technologies and data tools, the day concluded with a series of PechaKuchas lectures. A PechaKucha is a fast-paced presentation in which speakers get to present 20 slides that proceed every 20 seconds. This was such a fun and interesting end to a fantastic two days filled with learning, enthusiasm and collaboration. PTRC #2026TPM #transport #planning #CILTUK #PTRC #event #manchester

Today we are at the 23rd Annual Transport Practitioners' Meeting at Manchester Metropolitan University. TPM brings together transport planners, highway engineers and urban transport designers. Over the two days, practitioners, policymakers, and academics will present topical papers - sparking debates, networking, and sharing the latest ideas in the field. Day One was kicked off by Nicola Kane, Chair of the Transport Planning Society, where she asked the crucial question: Who will plan our future? This was followed by a panel discussion regarding the value that apprenticeships bring to the transport sector and the importance of inspiring the next generation to join our profession. Participants then got the chance to split into smaller sessions across five seminar rooms, with specialist presentations on a wide variety of subjects including accessibility, behaviour-informed planning and promoting active travel. If you are making decisions that shape how your organisation’s supply chains perform, the Level 6 Professional Diploma in Supply Chain Networks is built for you. Starting this August, it is aimed at senior logistics, transport and supply chain professionals who work at a strategic level and want their thinking, impact and responsibility to be properly recognised. The programme strengthens how you design networks, deal with disruption and lead change, giving you greater influence at board level and a clear route towards Chartered Member status with CILT(UK). Across three units you will explore: 1) How global supply chain networks are designed, structured and governed, and what that means for resilience and long term performance 2) How to measure, benchmark and improve network performance using robust analysis and meaningful data 3) How to lead transformational change across complex networks, bringing people, process and technology together in a practical, deliverable way For more information and to enquire with the CILT(UK) Learning Centre Team visit https://buff.ly/iKmDH6e

🛤️ Last month, Chair of CILT (UK), Anna-Jane Hunter, FCILT, was a panellist for the Rail Reform session at the ‘Better Transport Conference’ 2026. Campaign for Better Transport brought operators, policy and industry leaders together, as part of Better Transport Week, to assess UK rail reform and public ownership. The panel examined how rail reform could be delivered in the future, with Anna-Jane Hunter saying that devolution can create conditions for more responsive decision making - provided strong coordination is in place across regional boundaries. 🔗 To find out more, please visit: https://buff.ly/coCTEWL #BetterTransportConference26 #rail #news #transport #CILTUK
