100 families. 400 adoptees. 24 years of walking alongside Vietnamese adoptees as they reconnect with their birth culture. This year, Catalyst Foundation welcomed our 100th family on a Cultural Tour to Vietnam. But the truth is, they've been guiding me all along. Since 2001, we've served 3,019 families and 4,257 Vietnamese adoptees through Culture Camps and Cultural Tours. My own children have returned to Vietnam many times—not as tourists, but as part of their lives. I moved to Vietnam to do this work because I understand the "in between"—that space of being fully American and fully Vietnamese, of belonging everywhere and nowhere simultaneously. We created Hope House so adoptees can return as many times as they need. From the beginning, Catalyst has fought human trafficking while never being one step away from adoptees. Because the work of preventing family separation and supporting those who were separated are two sides of the same story. To every adoptee who has trusted us with part of your journey: thank you.
