    What are 2,000+ marketers actually sending to Google Ads and GA4? We analyzed over 14,000 lead rules across 2,100+ accounts to see how marketers define the call conversions feeding their Google campaigns.   A few findings stood out: - 77% of GA4 lead rules send everything as an event, with no triggering conditions beyond the default. - Talk time rules the day: the classic 30-60-120 second thresholds appear in nearly 78% of talk-time rules. - Fewer than 1% use call score as a condition, meaning most marketers rely on call length as a proxy for quality, instead of what actually signals a good lead. Here's an important takeaway from all of this: What goes into Google's machine learning comes back out. Feed it unqualified leads, and that's what it'll find more of.
